Shawn p.o.v.
After lunch I walk into my last class of the day. I thought today a lot of students would ditch and not come the last day since we don't do attendance, but all my classes have been full. My last class is full of seniors and as I thought there was a bunch if students. I even see some that aren't in my class.
"Well class, I uh really didn't have anything planned, so you can do anything you want for the rest of class," I say.
"Can you sing to us," Alyssa asks. The whole class nods their heads in agreement.
"Really? You want me to sing," I ask. They all nod quickly. "Okay what song do you want to hear?"
"How about one of the ones you wrote," Sara suggest. "Yeah," the whole class says after her.
"You sure? They aren't that good."
"They are amazing," Dylan tells me.
"Okay," I say getting kind of nervous. I've never sang in front of my class alone. Sure I've sang with the class and played instruments by myself, but never sang. I sigh trying to get relax and go to one of my moving boxes that's on the ground. I bend over and look for my song book. I hear a few groans and moans behind me, but don't pay any attention to it. When I find it I get up and turn to my class.
They are all giving me weird looks like they want to eat me or something. Some are biting and licking their lips and others are looking me up and down. I get self conscious when people do that. I ignore their stares and walk to my guitar and pick it up.
"How about we go to the auditorium," Johnny asks.
"Sorry I don't have keys and you have to book it in advance," I say.
"I am the head stage director and I have the keys for the auditorium," Olivia tells me.
"I don't know. What if we get in trouble?"
"We won't. I promise," Alyssa says. Her father is the principal of the school, so she could maybe help me get away with it.
"Fine," I finally give in.
They all cheer and get excited. We walk over to the auditorium and Olivia opens the door with her keys. I move over to the stage and I sit on a chair with my guitar and book. The stage lights go on and I can't see very far. Somebody puts a spotlight on me. I grab the mic and pull it in front of me. I get some of the other students who were in the play to play the other instruments.
"Okay, ah this song I wrote for the school play last year. You might have heard it before if you went. It was sang by Katie Smith. I hope you like it," with that I start playing. Some students sing and whistle along.
I believe, I believe, I believe, hey [x8]
Everest is only a mountain
A pyramid is just a shape
Doesn't have to hold you back
Doesn't have to pin you downLet your dreams take flight
And your heart igniteDid you know that it's true
Everything is possible
It's nothing we can't do
It's a wild and beautiful fire
And I believe in youI believe, I believe, I believe, hey [x4]
And I believe in you
I believe, I believe, I believe, hey [x4]Don't be afraid to be who you are
Just dream out and shout and follow the stars
Forget about the past that it's over
We are the young ones our way is forward
