Relationship Milestones

(Joey's POV)

As soon as we all finished breakfast, we packed the car and started to head for our destination. Kaci really wanted to know where we were going and what we were doing, but I didn't tell her. All I kept saying was, "Once were are there, and you know what's happening, it will all be worth it!" She just playfully punched me. Each time that happened, I teased her and said, "Why must you abuse me all the time?" It was fun.

When we got to our location, Kaci's face lit up.

Kaci: "This is beautiful Joey!"

I drove her to the top of a mountain, where there was a park in the middle of nowhere. We lied down a blanket, and sat down. The view really was amazing!

Me: "I knew you would like it!"

Kaci: "Yeah! You know me well!"

We sat there in silence, just taking everything in, until she spoke up.

Kaci: "Joey... I hate to seem ungrateful or selfish... But, is there a reason you brought me here? I mean, other than how beautiful and amazing this view is?"

Me: "Actually, there is.... I was waiting for the right time though."

Kaci: "Joey... Your not..."

I interrupted her. I knew what she was going to ask, and it hurt me to think that she was worried about that.

Me: "...No babe. Stand up please."

We stood up. I held her hand, and pulled her close to me. She smiled

Me:"I love you Kaci. I will love you forever, and know that you are way better than any of those other girls at school. That is why I chose you. You are my special girl."

I paused for a moment and just stared into her eyes.

Me: "Babe, there is a real reason I brought you here..."

She looked up at me with some fear in here eyes, but she smiled. I got down on one knee.

Me: "Kaci Johnson. Would you do the honor, to make me the luckiest high schooler ever, and go to our senior prom with me?"

After I said that, I pulled out our tickets. She started laugh-crying and nodded her head.

Kaci: "Yes Joey! I would love to! Yes!"

I stood back up and gave her a ticket. We hugged and kissed a few times as well.

Kaci: "I am so lucky to have you!"

Me: "And I you!"
