Don't You Get It?

(Joey's POV)

It seems like just yesterday Kaci and I went on that little road trip. That was a fun day. It is now a month later, and the class of 2017 is gathered at an assembly talking about the details of Prom. Our Senior Prom.

Principle: "...I have a feeling you are all going to love Prom this year. The Juniors have done a heap of planning!"

He kept going on about how great it was going to be. I looked over at Kaci.

Me: "Man. Prom sounds like it's going to be really fun this year. Who is the lucky boy?"

I said this while giving her a cheeky smile. She looked confused, but also have me a cheeky smile.

Kaci: "There is no one yet. I haven't been asked."

I acted shocked.

Me: "What? The guys in this school must be crazy not to ask a beautiful girl like you to such a fun event!"

Kaci: "Are you flirting with me?"

Me: "That's another reason I love you. You are so smart!"

We got interrupted from hearing the principle say something a little louder than usual.

Principle: "...I hope everyone has their date! And if not, you can do it after the assembly. Not now *cough* Joey and Kaci *cough cough*."

Our classmates laughed, and so did we. Then, I said something out loud.

Me: "Sorry sir! Continue on! I want to hear more about this splendid night you and the Juniors have planned out."

The class laughed, but the principle didn't seem to amused. I didn't care though. He just went on with what he was saying.

The bell rang after the assembly to head home. I walked Kaci to the front door. We had drove separate that day because she had wanted to go shopping or something. I still had to go get help from a teacher and get my stuff from my locker. I said goodbye to Kaci, pecked her on her lips, and walked to get help from my teacher.

After I got help, I headed to my locker to get my stuff and go home. Although, at my locker, I was greeted by some crazed junior girls.

Girl 1: "Hey hot stuff! How ya doin'?"

I gave her a look, the pushed her out of my way to get to my locker. I know that's mean, but if I have the right idea about why they are about to do or say, they deserve it.

Me: "Please don't call me that."

She and her friends laughed and got close to me. I ignored them.

Girl 2: "That girl you walk around the school with, what's her name?"

Before I could say anything another girl said something. Something that I knew that were going to say.

Girl 3: "Umm... Not sure... Hmmm..."

Then the 'leader' girl spoke up.

Girl 1: "How could you girls forget? Her name is Kaci. Spelled with a L.O.S.E.R..."

I told them off before they could say anything else. I wanted to through a punch, but I didn't."

Me: "Don't you dare talk about my girlfriend that way! She is smart, beautiful, and way more flirty and attractive you will ever be!"

The girls just looked at each other and laughed. I was furious with them.

Girl 1: "Aww Honey! It's okay! Don't get mad! Here, I know what will cheer you up. Will you take us to Prom?"

I was done. I started to walk towards them to intimidate them. It worked too. I was also so mad, that if this were a cartoon, you could see steam fly free from my ears.

Me: "How many times must I say it? I love her, she is beautiful. She is mine, and you are not. No. I won't take you annoying people to Prom, don't even think about asking or talking to me again! I love her, she is smart. She is mine, and you are not. Get that through your head! Why don't you get it? Don't you get it?
