Homecoming!

(Kaci's POV)

Before we knew it, it was homecoming week! "The week of the Popular People," is what I call it. Where everyone goes to football games, and where the most popular and cutest couples basically get worshiped by the rest of the student body. While everyone celebrates, I just am over here studying my but off for the next Mondays test. But this year felt different, a lot different.

It was Monday. The first day that the school celebrated homecoming. While sitting at Lunch, I explained to Joey how our school decided on homecoming King and Queen.

Me: "It's basically a popularity contest. It's really annoying. People usually vote for the cutest couple to be it and I guess they usually always do. I never pay much attention or even vote because I would usually care less."

Joey: "But this year is different.. Isn't it beautiful? ...You want us to get it this year! HAHAHA!!"

Me: "BE QUIET JOEY!! Haha and trust me, I have wanted to be queen since freshman year! But like I said, it's a popularity contest. No one likes me.. Except for you. Hehe."

Joey: "D'AWWW! Your so cute! Yeah, that would be cool to be king and all.. but I don't think we will be chosen either. No offense, but we are kinda the lamest couple ever. Making youtube videos together? Yep.. That won't get us picked."

Me: "But ya know, I guess this year won't be as bad cause I have you. And I know you love me. So, lets agree to be happy for the couple that gets it. What do ya say?"

Joey smiled at me and then wrapped me in a big "Joey Hug Borrito" as I call it.

It was now Wednesday and today was voting day! Joey and I decided we were going to vote for people to be King and Queen that weren't together. That would be like someone voting for Joey to be King, and themselves (so, not me) to be Queen. Again, we decided to do this cause we did not care at all, and it would be really funny!

Before we headed home after school, Joey and I went to put or votes in the ballet boxes.

Joey: "Are you ready?"

Me: "Sure am! I voted for two people that absolutely hate each other! *evil laugh*

Joey: "Who is that?"

Me: "Zach and Katherine."

Joey: "Oh my gosh!! I voted for them too! Didn't they break up? Like, a week ago?"

Me: "Yeah! And they are each others biggest enemy! Fighting all the time! It would be so funny if they got King and Queen! Senior year would really be the best! You know, like they say it is."

We put our votes in the box.

Joey: "It really would... But no matter what happens, *grabs Kaci's hands* I want you to know that you making me feel welcome at this school and just being an amazing girlfriend... You are the reason why I know that I am going to have a great senior year."

That got me. I broke out in tears. Joey hugged me to try an calm me down. As we walked outside to the car, Joey put his arm around me. He was right. No matter what happens this homecoming, I need to remember... "I have the one and only Joey Graceffa. He is mine."
