Chapter 7: Life is Full of Twists

"Would you scoot over? I'm trying to get my bag from under your butt because you are literally crushing it!" I was trying to push Jake to the side because my chocolates bars were in my bag and he was sitting on it. He scooted over like one inch and another inch, until he gave me some room to grab my bag and check on my chocolate.

"One bar that's crushed, I'm killing you Robinson." I opened the bag and sighed as I checked on my chocolates. They were still beautiful and not broken.

My aunt, Owen, and Jake's family were placing our suitcases in the back while Jake and I were fighting over our thoughts about how we used to be when we were younger.

"Hey Woods, remember when you always used to talk about having an imaginary sister? That was hilarious. You would mention something about her like every 10 minutes! No wonder everyone thought that you were annoying."

"No, I didn't even talk about "my imaginary sister" that much. Not every ten minutes, at the least." I scratched the back of head, laughing sheepishly.

"Ha, you just admitted that you did talk about your imaginary sister when you were younger."

"I didn't admit anything. I just said I didn't talk about her every ten minutes."

"Then, fine, I talked about her every single day." I said, crossing my hands on my lap. I felt like ripping my hair out as he kept arguing with me. He would always want to win and it is so annoying! "Well, you were the idiot that wanted to win all the time."

"I could care less about that time because I was happy enough to get you grounded for a few weeks or so." He retorted.

We both kept arguing back and forth with each other when suddenly next to me, like a blow horn, Owen screams, "Gosh, just shut up for once in your lives!"

We all turned towards Owen, looking shocked. He was on the verge of bursting and we all could see that. "Gosh you guys! Always annoying! It's not the end of the world if she knew what had happened-" My aunt quickly slapped her hand on to Owen's mouth, covering it before Owen said anything else. She leaned in and whispered into Owen's ear for a few minutes and his face visibly relaxed.

"I'm sorry you guys." Owen said, as he walked to the back of the car and got in. He silently sat down and stared into a world of his own.

I shook myself out of surprise and walked towards the car.

"Woods, wait." Jakes said, as his hand reached out to grab my own. I pulled my hand out of his grasp. I ignored him and walked and sat inside the car with Owen. I silently opened a tasty chocolate bar to calm myself down with what was going on around me. I decided to keep myself away from Jake for the rest of the trip.

Finally, we were at the New York City airport. We walked to our gate, G1. Owen trudge along with his bags and others did the same thing.

"Just a few more yards, you guys!" My aunt yelled enthusiastically. I had an adrenaline rush when we first entered the airport and now, I was completely wiped out and wanted something to eat.

Maria: I feel bad for Jake right now. He looks sad and slouchy. Also, have you thought about what Owen meant when he said that? I mean, it sounded ridiculous, but very secretive. You should dig deeper.

Me: I don't know. I'm too tired to even think about what's going on.

Maria: Fine, but you're going to have to figure out what's going on sooner or later.
