Nobody really knows you.
You talk a lot, but never really say much.
And people feel like they know you.
You're so open. You're so honest. You're so friendly.
We wish more people were like you.
Nobody really knows you.
You talk a lot, but never really say much.
So we don't actually have to listen.
And you'll smile and you'll laugh and we like that.
We like that we know you.
This open version of you that everybody else knows.
This honest version where we get to hear all the deep and personal things that make us feel connected, without ever having to stick around to deal with the consequences.
With the silence.
The heavy aching heart that only you know.
The broken jagged edges that you cut yourself on
We don't get hurt by these things.
We don't really know you.
We feel like we do, and that's enough.
It's better like this.
When we don't have to deal with the consequences of actually knowing you.
Of listening when you talk.
Reading between the lines.
Understanding that you're not actually an open person. Not actually an honest person or a friendly person.
You're barely even a person at all.
We like that.
We like that you only exist in the way that we perceive you to exit.
A flat, one dimensional, person.
You smile, and you laugh, and that's all you need to do.
Nobody really knows you, but we feel like we do.
