The soft light sunrays filtered through the beautiful curtains that matched the beauty and intensity of the room, casting a gentle yet beautiful glow over the spacious room. The baby was still fast asleep even as she went into the shower and freshened up. By the time she was done the she could hear the gentle cooing of the baby on the bed and she smiled softly as she got dressed watching her slowly as she woke up. She wore an ovisied shirt and some shorts before taking the baby in her arms. She walked out the room downstairs and went into the kitchen to prepare something to eat when she suddenly surprised by the sight before her.

On the counter, oatmeal topped with fruits wrapped with a clear food wrapper and a glass of milk that was covered beautifully. Everything was arranged with quiet thoughtfulness and she smiled lightly spotting the small note, folded neatly rested against the meal. She opened it lightly her heart already stirring.

"Am sorry about our misunderstanding last night. I really enjoy the time I spend in your company and I wouldn't like to ruin it with anything at all. I made you something healthy from my ma's recipe as an apology. I'll call you just to confirm if you are still comfortable if I visit. I love you."

She smiled completely touched by the efforts he was making to make sure he present in her life and that he was willing to work for her love and trust. She smiled softly kissing her baby's forehead and heated the food. She could still smell his intoxicating cologne as she looked at the bouquet of flowers he had brought smiling until the food was warm and she sat down to eat.

The morning was already up to a bright start thanks to him.

She started nursing her baby as she finished up her breakfast and cleared the dishes. It was still so early in the morning so she decided to watch something while the baby was feeding.

The doorbell rang earlier than usual as the ceiling lights that was outshone by the sun rays through the glass windows glowed. She checked the security camera outside and saw Miguel standing outside the door with another bouquet of flowers. Her favorite ones. At least they used to be. Not anymore. The baby stirred softly in her arms still latched against her chest as she slowly adjusted the soft nursing shawl draped over her. She calmly walked barefoot across the sleek marble floor until she reached the door, opening it.

"Good morning sunshine," he said smiling happily as if he just didn't ruin the already good morning she was having.

"What are you doing here this early in the morning??" She said uninterested, stepping aside slightly. Not as a welcome but a low tolerance.

"I thought I'd surprise you, figured you might need some help with the baby." He said smiling lightly holding up a bag from her favorite bakery but she didn't even cast it a glance before walking inside. He walked in like he owned the place as the baby suckled quietly against her.

"I was thinking maybe we could go out today, maybe to the park or take a walk," he said casually a bright smile on his face as he placed the flowers and the gift bag on the living room table.

"Am not interested with going out with you at all," she said coldly and he paused the dig landing squarely in his chest.

"Look, I know I messed up-"He pressed on turning to face her.

"That's rich," she cut in, her voice razor-sharp. "You made a choice. A deliberate, revolting choice which cost you this family. So for the love of God let's not water it down for you conscience."

"I am trying to fix things and make our family whole like it was supposed to be. I've been showing up and trying my level best to be here for you and our baby Mariana."

She let out a cold, dry, humorless laugh. "For me? Miguel, you show up here uninvited thinking we are in some movie where I'll eventually forgive you. That's delusion." She said coldly as she walked to her favorite seat and sat down gently.
