Gio was well rested, his energy rebooted effectively ready to fix the thousand and one problems that had accumulated but even then he couldn't get Diana out of his mind. He kept on replaying the previous night over and over again like some movie in his head. The mini-fight they had triggered a lot of jealousy in him considering she was claiming she was married when he knows that she broke up with her fiance before they even set a wedding date. Which begged the question of why was she clinging so hard to the fact that she was married when in reality she wasn't?? What if she was still in love with him and that's why she's so driven by that narrative?? Those questions taunted his mind and none of the answers was settling the fact that he wanted her so bad, that he wanted to be in her arms and above all else he wanted her to love him just as much as he loved her. It was all a new feeling but he wanted to do everything necessary to explore the fact that all those moments they shared was a reciprocation of his feelings. He had planned to wake up early to prepare dinner when he got the call from Matteo that they found the spy. Some good news in the middle of the chaotic saga that was trying to grow out of nothing. He made some oat breakfast and topped it up with some diligently topped fruits and a glass of milk. He wrapped the bowl with clear food wrapper and covered the top of the glass too before writing a note and leaving it beside the breakfast he prepared for her when his driver arrived. He left the residence and the driver drove straight to the holding site where everyone was waiting on standby. He walked inside straight to the conference room where everyone was waiting on standby.
"Show me everything..." Gio said shutting the door behind him as Matteo and the team of professionals he hired for the job.
"Well as we earlier discussed only a selected few knew about the shipment and the delivery schedule so we did as you said and traced everything. One access code that was not part of the executed team was used to enter the warehouse five hours before the heist. We conducted a full ledger trail on the suspects and discovered one of them has a hidden wallet linked to a offshore company under the name Mining consult. That wallet received four deposits over the last eight months the last being exactly 24 hours before the heist making it 3.5 million dollars." Matteo said calmly showing him the paper trail.
"Well this answers the questions from the first heist that has happened this year. Tell me about the payment notes..."Gio said coldly rage flowing through his veins.
"Empty but the IP history showed that it was accessed twice from from a secure location on route which is where the shipments was last tracked before disappearing. The tech team decrypted a series of signal messages from the burner phone we found at the last seen place on route of the shipments. A recorded call stood out, a little distorted and seemed to have through a voice changer so we ran it over digital tool to remove the effects matching it with over 600 voice samples until we found a 99.9% positive match, Diego Madilla or as we know him Fabio one of the surviving men..." Matteo said coldly giving him the traitor's file and he went through it.
"Who is his source??" He said coldly going through the files keenly.
"They were good at covering tracks so for that we need more time..."
"I think i have a more quicker solution. Where is he??"
"Basement. He was planning to flee the country just like you said but we caught on to his brother and wife, the man has no kids yet.."
"Well that's good enough for me!!" He said coldly as they left the room and went downstairs to the basement.
They walked into the secluded room in the basement drawn by the muffled scream to see Fabio tied down to steel chair undergoing extreme torture from two of his men from the military. The men stop the physical torture they were giving him and silence filled the room as they came into view. He walked to the metal table as Matteo ordered the men to drag Fabio and his metal seat in front of Gio.
"It's not every day I get to look my enemies dead in the eye so am planning to take full advantage of this glorious opportunity," He said chuckling coldly as Fabio sat before him his shirt hung in tatters soaked in sweat and blood. His wrist and ankles was raw bleeding from the barbed wires that stabbed through his skin and one eye was swollen shut. There were cuts, a broken nose, busted lip and blood covering his entire face.
"B... boss.. pl..please... I swear i don't... k..know anything...-" Fabio said while stuttering through his pain and Gio chuckled coldly pressing his fist on the table looking at him coldly.
"You don't know anything?? You had access to warehouse manifesto and after you logged in,five hours later a heist happens. Shipments worth millions gone and my men dead after an ambush you cosigned. You think i'd put in so much effort to put you through this without proof??" Gio said coldly a dark smirk lighting his face as he turned the file over to his showing photos from the satellite, timestamps and the ledger trails. He looked through the photos and fear crept up in him panic striking him.
"It's... n..not w...it's not..."
"It's not what it looks like?? Is that what you are trying to say?? I think we have established the fact that am not stupid... so now the only thing that can save you from me is if you open your mouth and tell me where my shipment is." He said coldly his tone changing to a very serious one.
"I... I... don't k...know any..anything..." He stammered and Gio looked over his shoulder to Matteo before turning back to face.
"Then let's jog your memory shall we??" Gio said coldly looking at him a dark sinister look on his face and after a while a group of men wheeled in his wife and his brother causing panic to flare into his eyes as he helplessly watched.
"The..they are not a part of this..." He yelled struggling to maintain his pain as the wife and brother cries that were muffled through the their taped mouths but even then Gio maintained his dark and closed sinister look straight at him.
"They are a part of you Fabio. And you? You betrayed me. That makes them part of your sin. They enjoyed the benefits of you being my employee so its only fair they suffer the punishment of your betrayal. So let's begin..." He said coldly before taking a step back as the torment began.
