Johns POV

I stopped running and leaned against a wall to catch my breath. I put my hands on my face and slid down it to sit on the floor. I saw Dave running away, the way of his locker. I really messed up this time, didn't I?

((Timeskip brought to you by a daydream fill school day and a sleepless night))

It is the next school day and I don't know how I'll react with Dave. I'm so scared. What if he avoids me and stops being my friend? The thoughts hurt my head so I just blocked them out. I walked up to the school gates and took I deep breath. I can do this.
I walked into the gates and the school doors. I was planning to go straight to my locker and making the day as painless as possible before going home and laying on my bedroom floor for 2 hours. But no. It's never that easy. I walked in and looked across the large reception. Right there, next to the stairs was Dave. He had his poker face on with his shades, and his usual red shirt but with short sleeves. That wasn't what caught my eye. The fresh cut marks littering then front and back of his arms did. I felt people push past me and I realized I was standing still. Dave noticed and looked over, lifting his shades slightly to see more clearly at what was happening. I watched him see me and he look straight into my eyes while his welled up with tears. He suddenly dropped his shades back on his face and speed walked away. I started moving before I could register what was going on and I ran to where Dave just was. I looked around, bag still hanging on my shoulder. I see the vibrant red of his shirt and follow it,
Pushing through the crowd of people. "Dave!" I call out but he just moves faster. I see him slip into a little nook in the school under the stairs and I ran to meet him. My anxiety has disappeared when I saw his eyes. His beautiful eyes. I slipped Into the little spot with him and dropped my bag, moving straight to him. "Dave?" I asked. He had his head down and his arms crossed. I grabbed one carefully and looked it over.  His fair pale skin was covered in long and short lines, still fresh from probably yesterday. Was this me? Did I cause this?
"Dave, look at me." I said, my voice nearly breaking. He didn't answer or look up. I swallowed hard and brought his arm up to my face and gently started kissing his cuts. I still tasted the metallic of blood and I accidentally licked my lips.  I look up to see Dave watching me, his lips slightly parted. We stayed like that for a while, silent, just staring into each other's eyes, daves through his shades. I was close enough to see the light freckles on his cheeks and across his nose, his high cheek bones. Only then did I realize how beautiful he was. I was done hiding my feelings. I saw his eyes move down behind the dark Shades and then back up to my eyes. I realized what he was hinting and leant in slowly.
"Ahem?" Someone coughed behind us and I jumped away, looking at who it was.
"What the fuck?!" Dave exclaimed behind me. I was thinking the same thing. "Mr.Strider??" I asked aswell, confused.
"Bro, why the fuck are you here??" Dave asked, walking past me to him.
"Well the school called me in at what the fuck time in the morning to get you. You can't show the cuts on your arms you idiot. What the fuck were you trying to do?" His heavy Texan accent was clear when he spoke. Dave look straight at him and I stepped back from the scene a bit.

"Does it matter?"

"Yes it fucking does. If I don't do anything, you'd be taken away and I can't lose you too, goddammit."

Dave was silent. Bro sighed and rubbed his eyes behind his own pointy shades. "Put this on. Were going home. Now." Bro ordered, sounding tired and held out the coat. Dave did as he was told and covered his arms. Just before he left, he turned to me. "My place. 7pm tonight."
