I've changed Karanveer's name to Aaransh, so please don't get confused in the upcoming chapters....
A U T H O R
20th July
Today, Nikshant and Aaravi were getting married.
In the heart of Udaipur, where their wedding was taking place, the haveli glowed like a dream—bathed in golden lights, the soft flicker of diyas, and the crackle of firecrackers lighting up the evening sky. Everything looked magical, as if the stars themselves had descended to bless their day.
Inside a room, Aaravi sat quietly in front of the mirror.
Draped in a bridal lehenga, with intricate jewellery adorning her neck, hands, she looked ethereal - so breathtakingly beautiful that it felt impossible to look away. Her eyes sparkled with nervous excitement, and a soft, shy smile graced her lips. Her face glowed - not just from the makeup or lights, but from the joy blooming in her heart.
Just then, Shreya walked in and stood behind her, locking her arms gently around Aaravi's neck.
"Aaru, you're looking so beautiful that I don't think Nikshant jiju will be able to take his eyes off you," Shreya teased, her voice full of playful affection.
Aaravi blushed, her cheeks instantly warming at the compliment.
"Let's run away now, if you still want to change your plan," Shreya added with a mischievous grin. Aaravi remembered the day Shreya had said the exact same thing when she was marrying Nikshant against her will for the first time.
Aaravi let out a soft chuckle, her heart fluttering with the memory. She shook her head and playfully smacked Shreya's arm before turning around and pulling her into a warm, tight hug.
"Hug shug woh bhi mere bina?" They both turned towards the door instantly-only to find Aaransh leaning slightly against the frame, a rare smile gracing his face-a stark contrast to the day Aaravi had first gotten married, when his expression had been weighed down with unshed grief.
(Hug and all that without me?)
Aaravi's eyes lit up the moment she saw him. She and Shreya opened their arms wide without hesitation, and Aaransh didn't wait. He stepped forward and wrapped both girls into a tight, warm embrace.
When they finally pulled away, Aaravi spun in a small circle, the soft fabric of her lehenga fanning out around her.
"Kaisi lag rahi hoon?" she asked, her voice light with joy, eyes sparkling with hope. The smile on her face was so wide, it seemed like it had no end.
(How do I look?)
Aaransh looked at her for a long moment. His eyes misted over, and he stepped forward, brushing a gentle kiss on her temple.
"Pari ki tarah," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
(Like a fairy.)
Then, without saying anything more, he glanced up at the sky visible through the window-like he was speaking to someone far above. His lips didn't move, but the silent message was clear.
"Maa... Papa... dekha? Aapki chhoti si princess abh khush hai. Maine aapna vaada nibha diya."
(Mom... Dad... did you see? Your little princess is happy now. I kept my promise.)
"You should also get married soon. Who will take care of you, haan?" Aaravi asked, tilting her head and raising her brows playfully.
Aaransh tore his gaze away from the open sky and looked at his little princess—his eyes softening as they landed on his princess.
