You'd been lying awake for half the night when you decided that there was no point idling in bed any longer. Instead, you decided to start deep cleaning your room. You work best in the quiet of the night when no one else is awake. It wasn't until a few hours later, when you were going to get a drink, that you realised you weren't the only one up.
You were halfway to the kitchen when you saw the lights on and heard someone shuffling around. You were pretty sure it was only Tony, but you had to be careful. If it turned out to be Steve or Pepper who was up, they wouldn't be very happy. As you got closer, however, it became clear that it was just Tony who was up.
"Hey kiddo." He smiled as you walked into the kitchen.
You rolled your eyes, a smile playing on your lips. "I told you not to call me that."
"Would you prefer something more formal then? How about.... Miss Y/L/N? Or.... Your Majesty?"
"Wow, I'm suddenly royal, despite having no relations to or met any members of the royal family."
Tony shrugged, pretending to act all innocent. "What're you doing up so late anyway?"
"Technically it's morning," you gestured to the clock on the oven that said 2:14, "and I couldn't sleep."
"Seriously kiddo? Again? That's the third time this week."
You rolled your eyes at the nickname but didn't comment on it. "It's not like I do it purposefully."
"I know, kiddo." He thought for a moment. "Come on, I've got an idea." He leads back to your room.
Once the two of you had made it back to your room. He gently led you to your bed.
"C'mere. I don't bite." He gently tugged you until you were sitting next to him on the bed. "Don't tell Steve or pepper about this, kiddo, 'cause I'll get an earful if they find out."
"I won't tell if you don't...... And stop calling me 'kiddo'."
"No can do, kiddo." He grabbed the remote for the TV off my bedside table. He chose a movie we'd seen dozens of times before, The Lion King.
"Didn't we watch that last week?"
"It's a classic." Tony protested. "Now get comfy, we'll be here for an hour and a half."
As usual, you were dead asleep against Tony's chest before the movie's even half over. Tony waited until the movie was finished, then turned the TV off and got comfortable.
