"So..." Yuji started, "What about the civilians who are already inside a barrier?"
"They'll be given at least one chance to exit," Tengen said.
I nodded. "That's surprisingly fair."
"How generous," Yuta added flatly.
"Each player will receive a shikigami called a kogane," Tengen continued.
A kogane was a small, light blue shikigami with a skull-shaped head and wings. It would follow each player.
Tengen continued to explain the rest of the game rules. So far, the rules we had were:
1. Once a player has awakened their cursed technique, they must declare their participation in the Culling Game at the colony of their choice within 19 days.
2. Any player who breaks the previous rule will be subject to cursed technique removal.
3. Non-players who enter a colony become players at the moment of entry and will be considered to have declared participation in the Culling Game.
4. Players score points by ending the lives of other players.
5. The point value of a player's life is decided by the game master. As a general rule, sorcerers are worth 5 points and non-sorcerers are worth one point.
6. Excluding the point value of the player's own life, a player can expend 100 points to negotiate with the game master and add a new rule to the game.
7. In accordance with rule 6, the game master must accept any proposed new rule as long as it doesn't have a long-lasting effect on the game.
8. If a player's score remains the same for 19 days, they will be subject to cursed technique removal.
I frowned. "It's a kill-or-be-killed situation."
"I have to...kill people again..." Yuji murmured sadly.
"No, I have a few ideas," Megumi said.
"Well, that's the info we've got. Now we each have a role to play," Maki announces, "Yuki and Choso will remain here to guard Tengen-sama. I will return to the Zen'in clan to collect cursed tools. Soon after Satoru was sealed, the Kamo and Zen'in clans cleaned out Jujutsu High's cursed warehouse. But Megumi is now the clan leader-"
"What?!" Yuji and I exclaimed at the same time.
"I'll explain later," Megumi said.
"Thanks to that, it's possible to search the Zen'in warehouse. After that, I will find Panda and help address the game," Maki finishes.
"I'm going to enter a colony right away to take part in the game," Yuta said. "Before Tsumiki, Fushiguro and the others participate, I want to gather information. I'll avoid nearby colonies so we don't end up killing each other and just in case something happens to Tsumiki."
Yuji suddenly looked up like he remembered something — and I did too. Yuta and I were supposed to kill him if Sukuna ever switched.
"It'll be fine. If that happens and I die... just let him kill you," Megumi said bluntly.
"...The point is to not let that happen, right?" I said. "It'll be fine, I'll go with you guys."
"Yeah, and you guys go to Kinji as planned," Maki said, nodding her head.
"Kinji Hakari is a suspended third year," Yuta said.
"Is that guy tough?" Yuji asked.
"Well, he's moody," Yuta replied, "But when he gets worked up, he's stronger than I am."
