I told Aaron everything. I told him that I'd done ballet when I was 5 and I cried for three days, until my parents finally let me quit. I told him I hate caramel, and I resented people who liked it. I told him that my favorite elementary school teacher was named Mrs. Reyes and my favorite middle school teacher was Mrs. Gooley. That I'd always wished I had red hair, and a sister so I used to make Mattie play dress up with me. That I was attacked by a dog when I was 7 and have been afraid of them since then. I told him that I was a sucker for romance movies and I cried like a baby in TFIOS. That I dreamed of having a boyfriend for for ever (since I'd seen twilight). And that I couldn't wait to have my first kiss. I told him my grandad was killed in WWII and I never got meet him. And that me and Kila had been friends since elementary and me and Parker were friends since 9th grade (he wasn't too happy about the Parker part). I told him that I used to hated my black hair because I thought it looked Emo. And that I cheered since 7th grade. That my birthday was October 27, 1999 (which made me 16, a year younger than everybody in my grade). I told him every detail about me, start to finish. When I finished I sighed, it was a mouthful. Aaron only said one word after I laid my whole life down in front of him for him to examine. "Incredible."
"Alright, enough about me, your turn. I really don't know that much about you." I told him. I got ready to write, I had to have more facts than him, he had a page full of facts on me in his beautiful manuscript. So heavenly.
"Well, I was born in Ontario,Canada on July 9, 1997. I have 2 older siblings and a younger sister, Tyson, Sloan and Blake.... Um I did karate all the way up to 8th grade, I'm a black belt now. I'm sorry babe,"- HE DID NOT JUST CALL ME BABE-" but I love dogs, and I actually have one, his name is Bear and he's a black lab. I uh, this is the third school I've been to this year and um well let me think for a sec." Aaron put his hands under his chin.
"Noo!!" I said annoyed.
"What is it?" Aaron said to me eyes wide.
" I said no for two reasons. First of all I only have like half of a page on facts of you and you have a full page on me! And second, Aaron your not being real with me. I wanna know this stuff, of course, it's the foundation of you life, but I also wanna know things about your recent past and who you are and where those marks came from. I want to know all of you, I don't want you to hide it from me. Please. Be real with me." I pleaded. Aaron's face went solemn as he prepared to tell me about him. And saying he was being real was an understatement.
Aaron was so real with me, I didn't even know the definition of fake anymore. He told me that when he was 7 he got into his first fight and got expelled from his elementary school. That his brother was usually the cause of most of his recent expulsions because since he came out of jail he was always looking for trouble. That his parents were both successful, doctors and lawyers so they didn't pay much attention to the kids. His sister was a gymnast and got kicked out because of her brothers past so they didn't get along very well for a while. And he got kicked out of these last recent schools because gangs of boys had come to mess with his brother and he knocked out most of them and the others ran away. But they'd told the teachers and principals that the Shepard's did that to them and they started it. Aaron told me how he wanted to run away. He didn't want to be known as just another bad Shepard he wanted to be known for something good. He told me after his last expulsion his parents got them a dog, as of it'd somehow bring peace to the kids but instead it didn't do anything because none of them wanted him. So Aaron took Bear as his own. He told me that his brother was going to transfer to our school and his sister too. He told me they'd be wondering who I was and would want to meet me. Aaron even told me he didn't wanna go home tonight because be he'd be patronized by his family. That Blake, his 11 year old sister would be the only one not asking questions would be just happy to know he was home safe. When he'd told me all of that, I'd gotten up to 2 pages. Ha!
