"Tyson Shepard." Tyson's name came over the loud speakers. We all stood up and screamed and cheered for Tyson. And we didn't sit down because we knew Sloan was up next. Tyson took his diploma and waved his hand up in the air. He winked at a girl in the crowd and then walked off the stage.
"Sloan Shepard." We continued our screams and cheers for Sloan as well. Sloan, who was now nine months pregnant, waddled on the stage, got her diploma and smiled at us and waddled back down the steps to her seat. Isabel was due any day now. We all agreed her nickname would be Bella though. Which I came up with by the way.
"Ling Ling Wu." That was the last name on our pamphlet. We all cheered for her one because she was last and two because she had mental problems but she made it through high school. Our herd of a family walked down to meet Tyson and Sloan, our high school graduates. As we got closer, Aaron slipped his hand back in mine. It felt good to have things back to normal. It'd been almost four months since the "break up". It felt like a lifetime ago though.
I looked up into his eyes and he looked happy. I squeezed his hands which made him glance down at me. I smiled at him and he returned it. Once we finally reached the twins, I could tell chaos was about to happen. Sloan was sitting down in her chair clutching her stomach. There was a pool of water staining her graduation gown and she was sweating profusely. Sloan's water broke. Aw shoot. Everything after that happened in a blur.
Sloan began crying and Ross, her dad, picked her up and ran to the car. Meredith was right on his heels. My mom and Mattie and Dakota were running after them. Aaron began tugging me after them. And soon I was running in my six inch heels. I jumped in the front seat of Aaron's jeep. And Tyson hopped in the back. The car was silent except for the silent humming of the engine. We followed my moms car, who was following Sloan, all the way to the hospital.
When we got there, the nurses took her to a far room, with her parents right behind them and told us to stay in the waiting room. Sloan was going into labor. I took a seat next to Aaron. My pink dress that I was wearing came to my mid thigh. I matched it with pink heels and a pink necklace. I'd curled my hair and just let it hang loose. Aaron was wearing a jet black suit which made him like so fine. It matched his jet black hair perfectly. I was starting to see Aaron as a very hot, handsome man. Not just ooo he's cute.
Aaron glanced down at me and winked. He interlaced our fingers and gave them a squeeze. I rubbed the back of his hand with my thumb trying to soothe him, because I knew he was nervous about Sloan. Mattie was sitting next to me on his phone and Tyson was on the other side of Aaron doing the same thing. Ha, boys. Dakota and my mom were sitting on the other side of Mattie, chatting up a storm.
We sat there for a good two hours, before a doctor came to get us.
"Um, the family of Sloan Shepard?" He asked. We all stood up, because we're were like a family. His eyes went wide for a second and then told us to follow him. We turned like six corners before we reached the room, 577. Tyson swung open the door and we all piled in after him. Sloan's long brown hair was in a messy bun and she was crying. Isabel was in her arms. She resembled her so much. The hair and the blue eyes. She had her nose and her full pink lips. Sloan kissed her baby's head and moved a stray hair out of her face.
Sloan looked up at me and smiled. She looked tired and weak. She motions for me to come to her side and I did. Sloan passed me Isabel. I took her carefully in my arms and began rocking her automatically. I let Isabel hold my finger and she yawned. I turned to look at Sloan and she was sleeping. I felt arms wrap around my waist.
I didn't need to turn around to know it was Aaron. He kissed my shoulder and then my neck, and then my cheek. I wanted to melt under his touch. But I remembered I had an infant in my arms.
"Aaron, let the girl go so she can focus on the baby." Meredith said. Aaron chuckled.
"Later." He whispered in my ears and then let me go. I kissed Isabel's little head and rocked her to sleep...

I walked into chaos. Bear was barking at the window, Tyson was playing his video games really loudly in the living room while Blake was singing Taylor Swift. I heard faint screams and a frustrated grunt. There was always chaos at the Shepard's house. I waved to Tyson and Blake and headed straight for the stairs. The crying came louder and louder, no shock it was coming from Sloan's room. I pushed her door open to reveal Isabel on her bed and Sloan was trying to get the crib set up, which I was guessing she wasn't doing it right. I dropped my purse and walked over to the bed and picked up Isabel. I walked around the room until I found her pacifier and popped it in her mouth. She instantly stopped crying and closed her eyes.
"ARE YOU FRICKIN' KIDDING ME?? I CANT SCREW THAT THERE, IT ALREADY HAS A SCREW!" Sloan said annoyed. And she let a bad word slip. I giggled. She whipped around to look at me. Her brown hair was wild and frizzy. She looked exhausted. Sloan still had a little baby phat but it'd only been two weeks since Isabel so I'm not judging. Sloan was wearing a large t-shirt and basketball shorts.
"I'll go get Aaron, I bet he can fix it." I said. She grunted and laid back in the floor. I took Isabel with me and we headed down the hall to Aaron's room. He was on his bed, shirtless, wearing joggers. His hair was wild. Aaron wasn't facing me so he didn't sense my presence yet. I walked over to his bed and kissed his forehead. He turned around arm smiled at me.
"Hey beautiful." Aaron's voice was deep and husky, which meant he just woke up. I don't know if it's just me, but when a guy wakes up and starts talking it's the sexiest thing ever. I blushed at his comment. I wasn't wearing anything cute. Just jean shorts and a tank top, but just wearing that he called me beautiful. I shifted Isabel in my arms and sat down next to him.
"Hi... Babe, did you just wake up?" I asked curiosity killing me.
"Yeah... Why?" I kissed his cheek and stood back up.
"No reason." I said shrugging. "But Sloan needs you. She can't get Bella's crib put together." Aaron sighed and looked at the infant in my arms. He stood up then and was towering over us. Aaron gently took the baby from me and kissed her head. He positioned her in one arm and took my hand in his. We walked back to Sloan's room. She was lying on the floor on her phone.
Aaron gave Isabel back to me and got on the floor and took Sloan's phone. I walked to Sloan's bed and plopped down watching this mess unfold.
"Aaron, give that back!" She said, but she made sure not to raise her voice, or she'd wake up the baby.
"No! Your fooling around on social media, and your not taking care of your own kid!"
"I am to taking care of Isabel! Aaron, I only needed you in here to fix the darn crib, that's all! Not a lecture." Sloan was getting frustrated.
"You are? Then why was my girlfriend the one to shut her up? And you were laying on the floor? Huh?" Sloan then lost it. She started crying. Aaron was taken back by her attitude change but went to sit with her on the floor. He cradled her in his arms. She cried for a good five minutes before speaking.
"I know.... I'm such a bad mother. Buts it's so hard. So-so hard. I'm trying though. I-I really am." She said. Aaron rocked her back and fourth.
"Your not a bad mother. Alright? It's okay. Aaron's got you." Aaron winked at me before kissing his sisters' head. How did I get so lucky to have him?
We were all sitting down in their living room, watching Descendants, which Blake and I chose. Isabel was in Aaron's arms and I was sitting next to him my head on his shoulders. Blake was in my lap playing with my fingers. Sloan was sleeping on the other end of the couch, her head on Tyson's legs. Meredith and Ross were on the opposite couch from us with Bear lying across them.
Now that I'm looking back on the last nine months, it was worth it to get here. Every tear, bruise, hurt word that's been done, was worth it. My life right now was a picture of pure bliss. And it was like a fairytale. A crazy, messed up, cliche fairytale. Ha, but it was my fairytale.
ITS OVER! Thank you to those who have stuck with me through this whole mess of a book. This is actually my first book that I've finished! I've written maybe five. Anyway. Yes, there will be an epilogue, but no not a sequel. Thanks guys. Remember to comment, like and share.
Xoxo,
