Aaron's POV

I stared blankly at my wall. It was 3:46 am. And I couldn't shut my mind off. I could only hear her, begging me not to end this. That she would say no to the government to keep what we had. Noah begged me. She begged me. I could only hear her voice cracking as she repeated the word please, over and over and over again. I could only imagine the look on her face when I hung up.

I'd never wanted a do over in life so badly.

Bear shifted next to me. He'd been sleeping in my room with me for a while, which was comforting. He was getting pretty old actually. He was 9 when I got him. Nine in human years that is.

I heard a creek on my door and turned my head. Blake was rubbing her eyes in my doorway. I sat up trying not to wake up my dog and walked over and kneeled in front of her.

"What's wrong BB?" I asked. Blake's black hair was all over the place. Her cheeks were pink and her eyes were red liked she'd been crying. I picked her up in my arms and walked with her back to her room. I placed her on my lap and wiped her tears out of her eyes. "BB what's the matter? Are you alright?" I asked her again. ((BB was the nickname I'd given Blake when she was born)). She sniffled.

"I had a bad- a bad dream again..." She said. I sighed. Blake had been having nightmares lately. Like really awful ones so she didn't sleep some nights. I had told Noah about them and she offered to stay over a couple nights to sleep with her, because when she was Blake's age she struggled with the same thing. Noah's would sleep with Blake and talk her to sleep. She'd been doing it for almost a month now. But last night and tonight were the first nights Noah wasn't here.....and it was all my fault.

"I'm sorry... Would you like like me too stay with you?" I whispered to her. She shook her head which surprised me.

"I-I want Noah. Winny I want her back." Blake began to sob. I let some tears to spill over my cheeks.

"Me too BB...Me too." And that night, we both cried ourselves to sleep.
