 YN'S POV

Jieun was showing me around the deck when we lost the track. I searched for her everywhere around in the sea of people; she was nowhere to be seen.

At last I thought to go back from to taehyung but of course I forgot the way towards the main hall, and that's how I ended up on the outer deck of the ship.

The beauty of the open starry sky with the ocean surrounded around was both alluring and threatening. My legs guided me towards the railing even before my mind could protest.

I shiver when cold wind brushes past me. I felt like I could breathe now with fewer eyes on me and the buzzing sound of loud music.

My instinct kept screaming at me over the night that I don't belong to this world, but this world won't leave my side, and if I tried, I would end up nowhere.

First my biological father who couldn't survive in this world donate me to my step parents, again underboss I ended up with as my step father, when he died I thought its over now but I was wrong.

If it wasn't enough, I was again pushed into marriage with some gangster by my stepmother, for whom I was just a source of income.

And when I got out of that hellhole, I had to bump onto taehyung with whom I am for the 1st time willing to stay, yet he had to belong to the family who was the root of every person in my life.

I thought hatred was stronger than love, but I was wrong, and me standing here was proof of it.

"You have become more gorgeous than before." I freeze hearing that voice pulling me out of my thoughts. The same voice that sends tremors through my body. The voice of a nightmare that never truly ended.

Ethan.

I turned slowly, unwillingly, not because I wanted to face him, but because the only thing behind me was the steel railing of the cruise deck and the endless sea, and I don't trust him or myself where I was standing.
