*Beginning of junior year*

Never did Luke Hemmings ever look like more than a friend to me.

Yeah, he was always sweet and caring and a great listener but did I think of him in a romantic way ever?

No.

And it didn't help that my best friend in the entire world, absolutely hated Luke Hemmings' guts. Calum hated him with a passion and I have no idea why.

Of course he didn't show it when Luke was hanging with us. He just laughs and smiles along, but when Luke isn't looking he always sneaks glares at him. He also texts me that he just doesn't like him.

I've tried to reason that he isn't a bad guy but he won't listen to me, something about his skin crawling whenever Luke is around.

Its come to the point where I don't hang out with them at the same time, just because it can get really uncomfortable.

This whole mess started when I first met Luke in my Health class.

"Alright class, today we've got a new student joining us, everyone give a warm welcome to Mr. Luke Hammings."

"It's Hemmings, actually."

"Oh I'm sorry Mr. Hemmings."

"Yeah, it's okay."

Our teacher raised her eyebrows and looked around the room for a spot for Luke.

"Ahh there's a seat right next to Ms. Charlotte, why don't you take that one?" She suggested pointing to me.

Luke smiled a small smile and made his way over to me, all the girls in the aisles gazing up at him in a god like way.

I wanted oh so dearly to be one of those people that didn't care if a totally hot guy sat next to them.

But I couldn't.

My breathing hitched as soon as he sat down next to me. I could smell his cologne and his eyes locked on mine before pulling away and looking at the desk in front of him.

Holy shit he was beautiful.

"Okay class settle down, I know it's very exciting to have a new student but can we please pay attention to the leading of a healthy life style? Thank you." She opened the PowerPoint on her computer as it was displayed on the screen.

"Oh and Charlotte, mind helping Luke catch up on notes?"

I nodded my head a little too vigorously as she shot me a smile and started the lecture.

"I uh, I guess um, you can just take my notebook." I said offering it to Luke, "oh and people usually call me July."

"Thanks." he took it gingerly and placed it down next to his, but before he did anything he turned to me abruptly.

"Um, do you n-need anything?" I asked.

His piercingly blue eyes gazed into mine and I almost melted.

"I was just, uh, just wondering if you could maybe show me around? I have fifth block off if you're able to." He asked nervously, gripping the edge of his notebook a bit harshly.
