"To a happy new year." Calum toasted with a glass of water, an arm around Nia.

"Happy new year!" Everyone raised their glasses, the plastic knocking against each other. We all took sips and sat back against the couches.

I was in a spot on the floor between Thalia and Luke.

Yes, Luke was invited to our get together.

Calum hosts this party every year, I don't think it's even considered a party. Yeah, the more I think about it, definitely not a party.

Once Calum got out of the hospital, I stayed with him a lot. I wasn't going to leave his side for a good while. It was too scary.

But on the occasions he had family, or something else I found myself with Luke. Strange huh?

Calum was at a point of tolerating Luke once he found out that he had driven me a quarter of the way back to the city and almost got arrested by a cop for trying to get to him quick.

But trust me, Calum still tells me bout the 'bad feelings' he has.

So far the evening has gone smoothly, little to no interaction between Luke and Calum but, that would probably result in a disaster so I didn't push anything.

My phone buzzed from the inside of my jacket, I unzipped the pocket and took it out.

I smiled and not going to lie, almost cried a bit.

Ashton has been, having some girl troubles let's say. I've been trying to help him handle it better than the average teen male would, so he wouldn't you know.... die.

It's been hard sometimes, it's quite scary. With Ashton and Calum going through a bunch of shit, my mind has been on high watch for the past couple of months, especially the last three weeks.

I definitely don't regret any of it though, if it helps them I'm all for it.

"Uh, I'm guessing midnight is at midnight Michael."

"Shut up Calum you knew what I meant."

"It's in five minutes bud." Calum laughed.

Michael nodded his head and the dark haired boy switched the tv to the program of the New Years ball dropping, but instead of New York it was the one in our city. Since, it's already January first on the other side of the U.S.

"I'm so excited," An old voice came from the bathroom, "Our New Years kiss! It's going to be so cute." Nia beamed as she sat down next to Calum.

I was sat on the floor across from Luke, we were showing each other vines of people doing stupid things, I couldn't stop laughing.
