"Excited about tomorrow?" I asked Luke at the end of English, which is a class we both had together this semester.

It was the Thursday before Cal and the team were leaving for Florida. I was excited for all of them, this opportunity was huge.

"Really nervous actually," he admitted, turning to face me, "I don't want to be totally embarrassing."

"Hey you're a good goalie, you'll do great." I assured him.

Speak of the devil, I got a text from Calum.

from cal:
u coming to the airport tomorrow morning?

I didn't hesitate to answer.

from july:
mhgjgugfkh

from cal:
oh wow thanks

I smiled at his lame response and shut my phone off, shoving it in my back pocket.

"Man Florida's so hot." I said trying to spark up a conversation.

"It is, I actually lived in Orlando for like, a year and a half."

"Really?" I asked.

Luke just nodded and smiled widely.

I took a second to really look at him, and all I saw was a sweet boy with a lip ring.

He was such, a friend-looking guy to me.

Or so I thought.

"Alright, class dismissed." Our teacher announced.

I packed up my backpack, adjusting my jacket before heading to the door.

"Wait July!" Luke shouted as he caught up to me in the hallway I turned around, pushing my glasses up on my face, "I've been meaning to ask you-"

"Jules I got this flyer for free pizza at Blaze you want to go today?" Calum asked as he walked over to Luke and I, "Oh. Hi Luke."

"Hey." Luke answered a bit awkwardly.

"Sure we can go," I answered Calum and turned back to Luke, who looked a bit defeated, "Wanna come?" I asked the blonde boy.

I knew Calum was glaring at Luke, and that's why I wasn't surprised when Luke shook his head.

"No thanks. I have to, go study for a math test anyways-"

"Well what did you need to ask me?"

Luke adverted his gaze from me, to Calum and then back to me before biting his lip.

"It can wait," He gave me a quick hug, "I'll see you later."

I stood frozen in my spot as he let go, walking off to the library.

"What was that about?" Calum asked, taking Luke's spot and standing in front of me.

And I couldn't help but stare at Luke as he walked down the hall, his height making it easy to spot him.
