☘️Slam dunk(unexpected comeback ☘️

“Why are we doing this?” Gunwook groaned, sprawled on the wooden floor of the practice room. “We just finished comeback promotions!”
“Because the fans will love it,” Hanbin said, scrolling through his phone for reference videos. “A surprise cover stage at the fanmeeting will keep them happy.”
“And,” Ricky added with a mischievous grin, “it’s basketball-themed. Which means jerseys. Which means—”
“Abs,” Gyuvin interrupted, flexing dramatically in front of the mirror.
“—No one wants to see that,” Yujin said, shoving him lightly. But his face was pink.
Jiwoong clapped his hands once. “Alright, focus. Hanbin, explain the formation.” Hanbin nodded, pulling Hao closer with one hand as he gestured with the other. “First part, we line up like this—”
“Binnie your hand’s still on my waist,” Hao murmured.
Hanbin blinked and quickly pulled back, ears red. “Ah, sorry! Anyway—Yujin and Gyuvin take the sides, Taerae and Ricky center, Jiwoong-hyung and I take the back row with Gunwook…” Matthew immediately ran up to Jiwoong. “Hyung, can I be with you instead?”

The first run-through was chaos.
Ricky tripped on his shoelace and ended up hugging Taerae by accident. Gyuvin and Yujin missed their cue because they were too busy laughing at each other’s failed spin.
Matthew deliberately leaned too close to Jiwoong, who just sighed and adjusted his jersey.
Hao and Hanbin… well, they were too synchronized, eyes glued to each other like no one else was in the room. Gunwook just shook his head from the sidelines. “I’m surrounded by couples
After an hour, they took a water break. Ricky flopped onto the floor, head landing on Taerae’s thigh.
“Hyung, you’re soft,” Ricky murmured.
“I’m sweaty,” Taerae replied, ears pink.“Still soft.”
From the corner, Yujin and Gyuvin were fighting over a basketball they found in the prop box.
“Stop stealing the ball, Yujin!”
“It’s mine now!”
They wrestled until Yujin somehow ended up sitting on Gyuvin’s back, both of them laughing so hard they couldn’t breathe.
Meanwhile, Jiwoong sat with his back against the mirror, scrolling through his phone. Matthew slid down next to him, resting his head on Jiwoong’s shoulder.
“tired already?” Jiwoong teased.
“Not tired. Just… comfortable,” Matthew mumbled, eyes half-closed.
Jiwoong let him stay.
Across the room, Hanbin and Hao were practicing a lift for the choreography. Hanbin held Hao’s waist, guiding him into the jump.
“Like this?” Hao asked.
“Yeah… perfect,” Hanbin said softly, too focused on Hao to notice Gunwook staring at them with a blank expression. “You guys are so obvious,” Gunwook said.
Hanbin immediately let go, blushing. “No, we’re just practicing!
By the time the sun started setting, they were sweaty, exhausted, and sprawled across the floor. But the unplanned stage was finally coming together.“Okay,” Hanbin said, leaning against Hao, “I think the fans will like this.”
“They’ll like it,” Jiwoong agreed, glancing down at Matthew, who had fallen asleep on his shoulder. “We just need to survive the chaos.”
Taerae poked Ricky’s cheek. “Wake up. We’re not done yet.”
“Mmm… five more minutes, hyung,” Ricky murmured, grabbing Taerae’s hand in his sleep. Yujin threw the basketball to Gyuvin, laughing. “We’re gonna be the main highlight, you know?”
“Obviously,” Gyuvin grinned.
Gunwook stood in the middle of all of them, hands on his hips. “You’re all hopeless.”Hanbin smiled. “Maybe. But we’re together. That’s what matters.”
The practice room echoed with tired laughs, playful arguments, and the feeling of a team that had turned into something more—messy, warm, and unforgettable.
And when the fanmeeting came, “Slam Dunk” would be more than just a song. It would be their song.
