CHAPTER 16

That feeling when you are already floating from positive emotions. Then suddenly, the bomb explodes.

That morning, Brian was brushing his teeth in the bathroom after taking a shower. While brushing, his mind was somewhere else entirely. He felt like today was going to be a good day. He could already feel it.

Last night, all he did was think deeply. He could barely sleep because of it. Most of his thoughts were about his strange feelings toward a guy named Natan.

Brian was confused about why he was feeling this way toward another guy. This attraction, this sudden longing for Natan’s smile, and the urge to go to his apartment just to see that smile. Then, whenever he thought of Natan’s lips, his mood would instantly become lighter.

These feelings shouldn’t be something he should feel, especially toward another guy.

That just meant he was starting to grow attached to Natan.

Brian even thought about courting Natan. What would it feel like to court him though? Would he agree? Would it be a good idea? Would Natan be angry?

Brian had always been used to courting women he was attracted to ever since he first started liking girls. So that was his instinct when he started accepting his feelings toward Natan.

But would Natan actually agree?

Had Natan ever been courted before? If not, then this would be his first time.

Brian’s lips curved into a smile when that thought ran through his mind. He would be Natan’s first suitor if ever.

Brian was determined now. He would ask Natan if he could court him. He just hoped he would agree.

That morning, while Brian was brushing his teeth, he smiled again as he remembered what he decided the night before.

I just hope he agrees. Even if I have to court him in secret, I’ll do it. As long as he says yes.

Brian was used to his attraction not fading easily. It would keep growing until eventually, he truly liked the person. At first, he couldn’t accept being attracted to Natan because he knew it might grow worse. But now, he didn’t care if it grew. Let it grow. He would think about the rest once he and Natan were already together.

Damn it. Natan being his boyfriend sounded weird. Him having a boyfriend sounded weird. But who cares? Brian didn’t care about other people’s opinions. The only ones he really listened to were his parents’ opinions. Other than that, he didn’t care what people thought.

If his parents ever found out about his attraction and they disapproved, Brian would go against them. But that was not the case yet, so no need to dwell on it.

After putting on his white polo shirt and black pants, which was the institutional uniform for male students at their university, Brian went to the kitchen and ate with his sister.

"You look happy today, Kuya!" she quickly noticed the smile on his face. "I knew it! You’re in love!"

"Shut up."

"Tsh. I wouldn’t be surprised if you tell me next week that you already have a girlfriend." She smirked before taking a bite of her hotdog.

Brian just laughed. He wondered how she would react if instead of a girlfriend, he told her it was a boyfriend. That would be epic.

Brian was in high spirits when he went to school on his motorbike, and even after his class started, his smile never faded.

"That smile isn’t normal, bud!" Troy, his blockmate, said while they were in class. They were seated near the back so the professor couldn’t hear them. "You’re in love, huh?"
