"Holy shit, Nelly! Are you seeing this?"
I'm afraid so. From the looks of it, the entire IAC perimeter is erupting. At the edge of the walls, abhorrent mutant beast are bursting from the stones and ash of the wasteland.
"Okay Lapiz, what are we gonna do? The gogori are on the western wall, and there isn't much use in making ourselves known to Tamiel. And on the eastern side-"
Lapiz raises his hands in disapproval, as if to silence the idea, "Jack has alot going on at the moment. I sincerely doubt it's an appropriate time for a family reunion."
Then what? Surely he isn't suggesting..
"Maybe we can make our own path through the south side."
Of course he'd suggest that. Looks like there are thousands of them.
"Hiya!" Lapiz whips the the reigns my combination-of-every-reptile-that-may-or-may-not-have-ever-existed, which I am now abbreviating to Coertmomnee. Could use some work... But whatever.
We dive down into the waste lands, before being confronted by our first issue. The mutants each lift up their hands as blue flames kindled in their palms. Soon, I could make out what appeared to be a gun, formed from the fires and shifting between forms, in the hands of each of the beast.
Boom
The first shot broke all the silence as it nails my Coertmomnee in the wing. Acid sizzles in the air as it gushes from her wing and we begin to decent.
We brace for impact, and send ash and dust high into the air as we plummet into a large stone.
She's okay, but stuck under the stone... More importantly, on top of my leg.
"Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggghhhhh! Shit Lapiz! Help! I'm stuck, and I can't move."
I feel my senses leaving my body... Every inch of her hide is poisonous. I fear I may be on the verge of paralysis.
"Calm down kid, just take feel breaths. She only administers toxins on people she recognizes as an enemy. You'll be fine. But we need to get you from under that rock. Now calm down an-"
Boom
One of the beast got a lucky shot on him. Fire cascades over me as the back of his skull burst into b blue light and blood. The mighty companion falls forward and lands on me.
"Those little fuckers... Just wait till."
He was cut short by three claws sliding through his chest. Blood spurts from the puncture wounds onto my face. I watch in horror as it dragged him off into the horde that was advancing is from the wall. I could see them... Jaws like sharks, with two sets each, and additional mouths on the arms chest.
Six inch claws that were black as night. They were attached to pale blue hands that climbed to the shoulder on pans blue skin and dark purple veins. The beasts' muscular systems were oversized to the point of being able to view entire strands of tissue through the sickening skin. And those eyes... All of them were green... Perfectly round, without pupils. Putrid slime oozed from the locations of the eyes as the eyes themselves rolled around. Upon closer inspection, I saw it.. One of them had rolled his eyes, revealing it's pupils to me... Soon, more did the same as they began to crawl to my trapped body.
No amount of poison could match the sense of inability to move. I was literally motionless from fear alone. How could this be the end... And the end for Lapiz?
"Damn it all!" I reach for my pistol, ready to fight until my last breath.
"Damn it all? You are starting to sound like me, girl!"
