The battle was still going on with very, very few sights of the Shifter. No one knew what happened to Herobrine or Seto, and Brice was going insane, demanding the whereabouts of his best friend. The clearing was now littered with severed limbs, blood and flesh. The two dragons had disappeared and the dead soldiers were dragged somewhere safe and clean. Sky was not doing well. Herobrine was giving him orders through telepathy like he used to in training. The commander also noticed that Herobrine could also see him from wherever he was.

Adam.

Sky finished off the skeleton and shook his head, sighing.

Yeah?

Kill the Shifter. No matter what. I don't want you to come strolling into the base without dragging a-

The other man was cut off when he broke into a fit of coughs and wheezes. Herobrine dug his nails into his arm, trying to calm himself down.

Briney?

-a corpse. Sorry I'm just recovering.

Sky ran off to help Jason fight off a giant slime.

You there?

Yes but barely. Also, preserve the body. I want to do something to him.

Woah, Briney. Never pegged you for a necrophilia kink-

Not in that way, fucking pervert.

Haha, alright. Get some rest.

One l-last thing.

Sky frowned at the shaky tone. He was concerned for his mentor. The Swede only spoke shakily when he was in extreme distress.

Yes?

Listen to animals.

What? This isn't some Shakespeare shit, right?

Sky yelped as he was harmed by four smaller slimes. He killed one off before trying telepathy again. It was no use though. Herobrine was no longer contacting him. Sky sighed, he just hoped he would be okay. First, he needed to deal with all the bullshit Herobrine left him with. Smirking, he shrugged and got into battle, adrenaline pumping through his veins once more.

Anything for his friend.

Herobrine lowered his head as he felt something soft climb onto his lap. The cat was back, a dead mouse in its jaws. The tabby dropped it before meowing pitifully at his friend. He pawed and batted at Herobrine's chest, trying to get his message through. Herobrine finally lifted his hand and stroked the cat's long gray, white and black fur. He rasped out, "Listen, boy. Get the commander here in this room once he sets foot in here."

He stopped to smile weakly at the purring.

"I hope you listen. Thanks for the mouse but you can eat-"

He coughed out blood into his clenched fist. "-eat it."

The tabby's green eyes narrowed in concern as it leaped off his owner's lap and gobbled down his mouse with his flank pressed next to Herobrine. The Swede just stroked his fur shakily, careful not to stain his friend's fur with any of his blood. The tabby finished and just sat on the man's lap, rubbing his cheek on Herobrine's chest, easing him through all his suffering.

For the Swede, his chest was ceasing to rise and fall. He put all his strength on making himself breathe, but to no avail. He can even feel energy and power drain from him. He clutched his shirt, wheezing and fighting for breath. He was losing this battle. Surely no miracles would commence when he was so close to the edge. He knew it was time to get rest once and for all.

Herobrine gave a soft groan before closing his eyes and relaxing, letting his body slowly shut down. Death grew close. Right when he shut his eyes, he grinned weakly. He guessed it was true, then. They always said you would see your life flash before your eyes before you perished. Herobrine let his smile falter as he watched uneasily. He had a difficult, harsh life. He was just happy it ended with a bang.

In the next five minutes, the cat yowled to mourn the death of his beloved master. But he did keep his master's words in mind.

"It is time."

"Really? When can we meet him?! I want to be the one to tell him all about us, the goddesses, the counterparts, the demon court, the realms and-"

"Odelia, please, calm down."

"Listen to Pierce, my dear. Besides, it will be Allix and Kenny who will meet him first."

"That's not fair..."

"Suck it, Delia."

"Pierce. No. Now, you will meet him at a much later date."

"But why, Lady Aetheria? We waited so long for you to create them. I can't wait any longer..."

"Yeah, they took longer than any of us did."

"That's because I thought them out very carefully. They are my greatest and only works, of course I go all out, my dears."

"Oh man, I'm not ready for the favoritism."

"Now, now, remember that they are still the youngest, at least you all are more experienced."

"I really can't wait to meet his counterpart though, he'll complete our trio, Pierce."

"Let's hope we get along with him."
