☆Are you sure you're a commandant?
Sky frowned as he strolled down the hallway. Herobrine was interrupting every now and then and it was irritating Sky. Herobrine already taught the commander telepathy but Sky could not control it nor fully grasp it. He tends to... Not pay attention to his surroundings while using telepathy. That was the origin of how he twisted his hand backwards, but Herobrine came to view and helped him heal, telling Sky how idiotic he is. Sky then saw Seto, helping Martin with his cast.
He asked, "How's your arm?"
Seto answered for Martin almost immediately, "It's recovering. He will be fine in no time."
Sky felt a tap on his shoulder. He spun around, finding Jerome. The soldier grinned and said, "Tyler and I have been waiting for you! Remember, you chose us to follow you to the Training Camp? Ya know, regulatory visits and whatnot?"
Sky remembered and said, "Oh shit! Sorry, I was tired last night."
Gee, I wonder why.
Calm down.
Jerome Robert Aceti. A great fighter, commadant Sky knows how Mitch and Jerome are really close, so he often pairs them up. Well, he has to. The other will throw a fit if their friend was not around. Jerome is a loyal and caring. In battle, he fights alongside Mitch, looking after each other's backs. Only Jerome was promoted to officer cadet, and when both he and Mitch got really upset about the latter not coming, Sky allowed Mitch in, under one condition. To get on elite level, he had to train thrice as hard for four months. Jerome helped him through it.
Tyler appeared, his cape already on. He asked, uncertain, "Will we make it in time?"
Sky replied immediately, "Of course, it's in the meadow behind the hills in the east. Takes about an hour and wouldn't be so hard on the horses."
He clipped on his cape and headed for the stables.

After the three soldiers introduced themselves to the recruit, Jerome oversaw the training practice, occasionally chipping in some advice. Mitch was back at the base, either briefing his squad or already setting out to hunt. Sky was watching a pair of recruits practicing hand-to-hand combat. Jason paced around, reminding his recruits to try not to cause injury to on another.
After a few moments, Jerome leaned over to Sky and whispered, "Take a look at the girl with feathers in her hair? She's amazing. Never lost a single match just yet."
Sky followed his gaze and observed said girl for a while. The feathers in his hair were against uniform rules but Sky himself broke the rules with his shades and long hair, so he didn't bother.
He said, "You challenge her then."
Jerome's eyes widened and asked, "Really? Can I?"
"Why not?"
Jerome nodded slowly and ran over to Jason to ask. Jason folded his arms and replied, "You mean Killia Drew? She and her brother, Kei, are both pretty good. You could try, I guess. Just... Hold back, will you? Foster ain't around to help you."
Jerome smirked and said, "Whatever you say, lieutenant."
Jerome heard a yelp from behind him. All eyes turned to a guy who was thrown to the ground by his opponent, who just so happened to be Killia. The girl retied her messy hair before helping the fallen recruit up and whispered, "Sorry."
Sky heard what she whispered ever so softly from fifteen meters away.
Your senses are heightened. Not necessarily a good thing. You can hear things you wouldn't want to.
How far can I hear?
Experiment. Have fun.
It's a little odd to have a renowned murderer tell you to have fun.
Sky hummed absently, listening to the soft grunts and whispers of recruits in the huge hall. He watched as Jerome walked over to Killia and asked her for a spar. Killia nodded. She stepped back and waited for Jerome's first move, dropping into a defensive stance. Jerome smirked as he charged at Killia. She immediately reacted by grabbing Jerome's hands and pulled him to the ground. Jerome yelped as he hit the ground with terrifying force. For someone quite small, she had quite the muscle.
Killia held out her hand towards Jerome as all the other recruits watched her in amazement. Jerome groaned and let Killia pull him up.
Jerome asked, rubbing his side, "Where did you learn how to fight like that?"
Killia replied, keeping a straight face, "Personal experiences."
A young man that looked similar to her walked over and said, "Sorry, sir. May we be excused for a moment?"
Jason looked at them strangely before he finally nodded. The siblings left the practice hall. Tyler went over to Jerome and rested a comforting hand on his shoulder, "You alright?"
Jerome weakly replied, "I think?"
Jason shook his head and reminded the soldier about his warning. He snickered while being eyed by Jerome as he led him to the medical bay to get looked over. Sky followed them and asked Jason, "What's her current rank among all the recruits?"
Jason sighed and showed him the list. Sky was surprised by the results. Killia was rank one while her brother was second. Sky asked, "Is this overall or what?"
Jason nodded, "Overall."
Sky blinked, muttering, "She'd do good as an elite..."
Jason corrected him, "She definitely will. I wonder what course she'll go towards. Her brother is always somewhere behind her as well. They sort of balance each other out. I'm worried how they might do when separated though..."
Sky nodded. Seto and Brice were such a pair and so was Mitch and Jerome. They did excellent together but were a bit dulled down when alone. He hoped his soldiers would become more independent.

After the combat session, Killia and Kei gathered in their dorm's dining hall, but of course, they both were in different dorms. Once Killia set foot in the Girl's Dormitory Dining Hall, many of the girls who were recruited asked her how did she beat Elite Soldier Jerome. Killia never responded and just ate a potato before leaving for her room. When she was strolling in the hallway, she saw a figure.
The figure looked like a man and she said sternly, "Males aren't allowed in the Girl's Dormitory."
The figure stepped forward and she realized that is was the commandant. She saluted him and said, "How are you, sir?"
Commandant Sky dismissed her, "I'm just here to inquire, how did you beat Jerome? He is one of my best soldiers and is well known for his combat."
Killia hesitated. The reason why she learned self-defense and combat skills stemmed from her past. It was a little sensitive and she avoided talking about it as much as possible. At the same time, her superior was asking her a question.
She thought for a while before decided to say, "It's a long story, sir. Is it alright if you give me more time?"
Sky nodded and said, "I guess you don't want to talk about it then. I understand. Anyways... One more question, what are you aiming to be in the military? Also, why the Southern, why not the Royal Military?"
Killia looked up at him for a moment, clearly thinking. She slowly answered, "To be honest with you, sir, I don't know. All I know is that I want to be here."
"Then why not be in the Royal Military?"
"The Southern Military is... Closer to home."
