The Swamp

(Okay, sorry for the long wait. Here it is! The next chapter!)

So, after leaving Omashu, we got to work on finding an earthbending master for Aang. Not only that, we now have to worry about those crazy chicks we encountered in Omashu. But that girl with the blue flames, her eyes... They look familiar. (Wonder why?)

I lay on my back in Appa's saddle while he flies and I fiddle with my knife. I sigh then sit up as I put my knife away and look at Katara reading a scroll while Sokka sharpens his machete. I look at Momo to see him look over the saddle and I crawl over to look and find we are flying over a swamp. A really big one. I notice we are lowering down and move to be behind Aang. He looks like he's in a trance. "Hey, you taking us down for a reason?" I blink when Sokka spoke, but Aang is unresponsive. "Hey, bud!" I slide onto Appa's head and nudge Aang's shoulder and hear him gasp. "Huh? What?" He says. "Aang, why are we going down?" Sokka asks.

"I didn't even notice." He says, rubbing his eyes. "Are you noticing now?" No need for sass right now, Sokka. "Is something wrong?" I hear Katara ask and look back to see her and Sokka. "I know this is gonna sound weird, but I think the swamp is... calling to me." Aang says. "Is it telling you where we can get something to eat?" I deadpanned from Sokka's question. Always food with that guy. "No, I-I think it wants us to land there." Aang says. I look down at the swamp. For some reason, I feel something from it. Something... unusual but familiar. "No offense to the swamp, but I don't see any land there to land on." Sokka says.

"I don't know. Bumi said to learn earthbending, I would have to wait and listen. And now I'm actually hearing the earth. Do you want me to ignore it?" Aang says. "Yes." Sokka answers. "I don't know. There's something ominous about that place." Katara says. (Good or bad? You gotta be specific.) "I think... If it's calling to you, you should answer it." I reply to Aang. I don't know, I feel like it's calling to me too. I jump from Appa roaring. "See? Even Appa and Momo don't like it here." Sokka says. "Okay, since the majority of everyone feels so strongly about this, bye, swamp. Yip, yip." Aang says, snapping the reins and Appa flies higher.

I frown as I felt that we should land. But, it's two against four. So, nope. I sigh and lean back, but my eyes widen as I hear something loud. And it's getting louder which means it's getting closer! "Something's coming!" I look behind and see a tornado. A TORNADO?!? (Where did that even come from? 🌪️) "You better throw in an extra yip. We gotta move!" Sokka says. "Hang on!" I shout. Appa flies faster as we try to escape, but the tornado keeps chasing us. It's like it has a mind of its own. "Aaaaah!" I watch in worry as Katara grabs Sokka before he could have been sucked into the tornado. Aang jumps into the saddle and I take over the reins as an orb of wind surrounds us. "Everybody, HOLD ON!!" I yell as we get sucked into the tornado. I grip onto Appa's fur with all my strength, "AAAAAHHH!!!" But lost my grip and get blown off him. I look to see the others and try to reach for them but they get launched out of the tornado.

"GUYS!!!" I shout, "AAAAHHHH!!!!" I scream as I get blown out and see the swamp. "This is gonna hurt!" I hold my arms to my face as I break through the leaves. "Ow! Duh! Oof!! Oh! Gah!! Branch! Gya-Ow!! Ugh!" I land on my back with a somewhat soft landing. After hitting so many branches. (Ouch. 🤕) Okay.... That hurt. A lot. I pant and open my eyes to see trees... vines... and a hole in the canopy with... sunlight... "Uuuuuuhhh..." I groan, then pass out.

Third Person P.O.V.

Katar and Sokka land with a splash in the swamp while Aang lands gently as he used air to slow his fall. Sokka groans as he lifts behind elf out of the water. He and Katara stand up as they and Aang look to find themselves in the swamp now. "Where's Appa and Momo?" Aang asks. "Where's (Y/N)?" He asks as he notices her absence. He jumps up and makes it above the canopy as he looks around, but the swamp is covered by the layer of leaves. And the tornado suddenly gone. "Appa! Momo! (Y/N)!" He shouts, but gets no response.
