Earlier in the day, Elliot had texted Jamison to let him know that he needed to work on a project, so Coby would bring him home, and he'd meet with him later. It should've been more odd to go home to an empty house, but there was a nostalgic familiarity to it. It hadn't been that long since his life had always been going home to an empty apartment, his only real daily socialization being with Wren and customers. Truthfully, he didn't miss it, but he didn't mind the time alone either. Going upstairs, Jamison kicked off his shoes and took off his pants, then crawled into bed. Without Elliot, the bed dwarfed him, and he rolled into the middle of it to recharge and decompress from the busy day. They still had the time at the beach later on that night, and he was tired. The only problem was how awful it was not to be able to hold Elliot as he relaxed, so he turned to his pillow, grabbing it and drawing it close to his face and chest. It smelled like him, and that was good enough for him to be able to release the tension in his muscles.

The house was dark when Elliot arrived home a half hour later. Maybe Jamison was drawing upstairs; he still hadn't made him his drawing room like he'd promised, but Jamison hadn't seemed to have minded. "Jam?" When he entered their room, he was surprised to find Jamison fast asleep with his pillow clutched to his chest, and his normally pale cheeks pink, presumably from being a bit too warm. Unfortunately, as peaceful as he looked, he needed to wake him up so that they could get ready for the night.

Crawling into bed behind him, Elliot wrapped an arm around him and exhaled lightly. There was much to discuss, but it all fell away as he held him. The touch was enough to pull Jamison from his sleep, and with a soft groan, he rolled over and pressed his face against Elliot's chest. If it wasn't Ant's birthday, that would've been enough to cancel going to the beach.

"I'm sorry, sweetness, but we gotta get ready," he said, gently rubbing his back. "We gotta get everything set up before Sam and Ant get there."

After whining quietly, Jamison pulled his head back and looked up at Elliot. "Did you pick up everything?"

"You know it," he said, then kissed his forehead. Detaching himself from Jamison, he got back out of bed and went to his closet. "It's going to be cold, do you want some gloves?"

Rolling onto his back, Jamison stared up at the ceiling, yawning softly. He hadn't meant to take a nap, but it'd been a pretty good decision with how rested he felt now. "No. They'll just get all sandy."

"Good point," Elliot said, returning from the closet with his arms full of clothes. "You should layer up, though."

"I already am," Jamison said, sitting up, a brow raised as he looked at the clothing options that he'd grabbed. "I'll be fine. Your clothes are too big anyway."

Frowning, Elliot dropped the clothes in a pile on his bed. "We should go shopping and get you a heavier jacket."

"I don't need a heavier jacket," Jamison said, getting up from the bed. "I'm plenty warm where I'm covered."

"Which is why you should wear gloves," Elliot said, "and a beanie."

"You can wear a beanie and gloves," Jamison shrugged, walking out of the room, "but I'm fine."

Of course, he was going to be stubborn. "I'll bring them in the car in case you change your mind." Grabbing an extra coat, Elliot followed him down the stairs and into the garage. After putting them in the back seat, he set the alarm and drove off for the beach. Because they were going to an isolated area, he'd told Terrence that they didn't need accompaniment. Elliot needed to tell Jamison about what had happened and his decision, but doing it in the car didn't feel right. Taking a walk at the beach seemed like it'd be perfect, though a bit more chilly than Jamison may be expecting. So, instead, he asked Jamison about his day and work, and by the time he was winding down, he was already pulling off the highway onto the dirt road.
