"Welp, here we are... Lapis Lazuli!" Jackie exclaimed, sweeping his arm in front of them towards the hotel room.

V walked in with him, stepping from the bright light of the hallway to the dim, soft glow of the room. She was struck by how... blue everything was. A floor of what almost looked like crushed blue and gold sand, dark blue walls, blue décor. Immediately upon walking in was a golden room partition, slatted so one could see through, followed by a quick serpentine to the right before entering the room proper.

It was spacious, the size of V's apartment. To their left sat a huge king-sized bed with blue and gold sheets on a raised section of the room, while directly in front of them was a seating area with couches, a coffee table, desk, and a dual-sized TV that sat at the end of the bed. In the middle of the coffee table was a holographic display of two fish swimming in a circle around an orb of blue and gold. Along the right wall was another naturescape terrarium, filled with blue flora along with a gentle waterfall. The whole back wall was taken up by the windows, gazing out over Night City and the harbor beyond. The sun had almost completely set by now, leaving some last lingering trails of fire along the edges of the skyscrapers.

V called out, "Bug? We're in our room."

Jackie moved over to the desk and set the Flathead case down.

"Pretty snazzy," he sighed appreciatively, setting his hands on his hips and looking around. "Too bad we ain't stayin' the night. Nice choice, Bug."

"Didn't pick it for snazz," T-Bug cut in with a snide huff. "Offers quickest access to the dwellers and servers."

"Si, si, me acuerdo," Jackie said patiently as he opened up the Flathead's case, examining it.

"Now, time to fire up the Flathead and find the shaft entrance," T-Bug continued.

V felt another bubble of cold well up her spine, bursting at the base of her skull and causing her to shiver. This was it.

This was it...

"Sounds simple enough," V shrugged, swallowing hard as she casually moved to stand next to Jackie, looking down at the Flathead as it powered up and began running through diagnostics. Jackie pulled out the control shard, slotted it, his eyes now turning into a glowing blue.

"Simplicity's sometimes toughest to master," T-Bug said sagely.

"Aurelius? Aristotle? Who's it this time?" Jackie asked with a smirk.

"Yours truly," T-Bug answered smugly. "That one's mine."

The Flathead popped up its front legs, looking like a friendly spider reaching for a hug. Jackie gave it the once-over, then turned to V and nodded.

"Where's the shaft, Bug?" V asked.

"Boot up your scanner, take a look around. I'm thinkin' it'll be somewhere on the far wall, near the terrarium."

V nodded, then realized T-Bug couldn't see her. She activated her scanner and began systematically moving over the wall to her right. There were a couple of maintenance panels for the terrarium controls, a scrub port, and then, where the terrarium wall met the pillar the windows were set into, a small shaft door for in-wall electronics or ventilation access.

"Found it," V called out.

"Good," T-Bug said. "Jackie, how's the Flathead lookin'?"

"Alllll set," Jackie purred, crossing his arms and grinning as the Flathead stood up fully and began to crawl across the table and over the floor towards the shaft. "Systems're operational, charge at a hundred!"
