I tiptoed silently down the corridor, trying to make as little sound as I possibly could. I'll have to quickly open the door and shut it before Mom wakes up, if she catches me I'm screwed; I won't be allowed out until I'm seventy.

"Eli, where are you going?"

Rats I've been caught but not by the person I was expecting. I turned around with the biggest smile on my face and whispered "No where sweetie go back to bed"

He rubbed his blue eyes which were the same colour as mine except his could make our parent's hearts melt and mine just held mischief according to dad. With a yawn he began stumbling towards me with his eyes barely open, if I didn't grab hold of him he would go tumbling towards the ground. He reached my legs and wrapped his short arms around my knees and yawned once again. "Please don't leave" he mumbled in his small four year old baby voice.

Josh was my little brother, I have the ability to see into the future and I knew my parents would have him. I used to think that was the only ability I had but when I was eleven I sucked out all the electrical energy in the neighbour hood and held it like a light ball in my hands before setting the couch on fire. I haven't been able to do anything like that since, I loved Josh more than anything in the world and in that moment, cancelling on Tom was a good option, we can go out another time. "Come on" I told him and bent to pick him up. He was light and wasn't much of a hassle to take upstaires, with his head resting on my shoulders I trotted the steps silently until I reached his room. "Go to sleep Josh" I whispered.

"Goodnight Eli. I love you" he slurred.

I smiled "I love you too"

"Had somewhere to go last night Eli?"

I gulped hard and shook my head "No, I was in bed the whole night" I lied. Well technically I was in bed but I was also about to sneak out.

She looked at me hard with her gold eyes "I know you were planning on sneaking out to see Tom, luckily Josh was there to stop you"

I narrowed my eyes at her then glanced at the four year old in his high chair. He sucked on his thumb and stared at me wearily with bags under his eyes "You sent Josh to stop me from going out? look at him he's exhausted now"

"I didn't exactly send him, he was already up and he heard you in the corridor. I just merely lifted him up off the bed" she smiled. I rolled my eyes and huffed just as dad wondered in with the usual suit and tie. He's going to be in heaven today because angel Gabriel is busy and someone needs to be messenger for the day. My father is an angel, my mother is the most powerful vampire that has ever lived. Her grandmother was the most powerful vampire and now her powers have passed onto my mother; the position was passed down too. Some people think the daughter of the purest creature and a beast should not exist yet here I am, my fangs have grown full length and my wings are itching to emerge from my back. Luckily the perks of being this type of crossbreed is that I don't have a craving for blood, I eat normal food, I just have fangs.

Josh had nothing, when I was his age my fangs were beginning to grow and the white slits on my back were forming but him; there's nothing. He's basically a normal child.

"Morning" Dad smiled and kissed Josh and I on the head. "Did you sleep well?"

"Yeah" I said monotone.

"Don't forget you have flight class with Dean and Isobelle after school today, aunty Thalia will pick you up" he said to me.

"I was hoping to go to Jered's party after flight class" I said hopefully. I smiled widely and batted my eyes in hope my parents will say yes.
