He Tries To Be Like Thomas

Will's Point Of View
I couldn't tell you how nervous I was to meet up with Sophie, the girl I've liked since we met at school.
She's just an all around amazing woman with the looks of a Greek God and the personality anyone would fall for, which is what I'm afraid of.
Of course, I feel like the luckiest man to just be beside her sometimes and to just be the one guy she calls her boyfriend.
When I look at her, I just wonder why the hell she even wants my dumb ass but then I think, you know, maybe she sees something in me that I don't see myself.
Tonight, Sophie and I are double dating with her good friend Katie who I have yet to meet, but have heard numerous amount of stories about. Sophie was coming with Katie and Thomas and I were driving together to meet up with them.
"I'm so nervous." I say to Thomas as I nervously look out the passenger side window.
"Don't worry about it mate, you'll be fine. Trust me, I was the same way." Thomas says as if it was no big deal.
Him and Katie have known each other for a while and dated longer than Sophie and I have. He would obviously know how to make a woman happy, especially if he's been with Kate for years.
"Yeah, but Thomas." I say as I look at him.
I had nothing to say after that, I'm guessing he understood what I was getting at because he looked at me with a face that says, "shut up" but in a kidding way.
"Will, Sophie likes you so much already, you'll be fine just be yourself." He says.
I look back out the window and sigh as I look at the side view mirror at the car behind us.

We finally get to the restaurant and I immediately land my eyes on Sophie.
She looked stunning in her blue dress and black heels.
Her smile just radiated off of everything and that made me smile.
I look over at Katie and she looked just as beautiful as Sophie did.
I look over at Thomas who I knew was looking at me already.
"Ready?" He asks as he raises his eyebrows while walking ahead.
I nod my head and gulp while walking slowly but surely behind.

Thomas greets the girls and so do I and then we both tell them how great they look along with hugs for each of them.
We walk to our table and I watch as Thomas pulls out a chair for Katie.
"My lady." He says as he winks at her. She looks so happy that he had done that, so I tried it on Sophie.
I pull the chair out for her, like I would anyway, but I added, "my love" to it with a wink and a smirk.
She smiles at me and says a nice thanks as she sits down.
I watch as Thomas jokes about things on the menu with Katie, I look over at Sophie who is mesmerized in the menu herself, so I decided not to try and joke about things.
"Um, what are you getting?" I ask.
I smile and look over at her as she looks with her tongue sticking out, something she done a lot, so I took notice.
"I think I want a hamburger, but then I think I want a taco with the side salad or a taco salad whatever it says." She says as she laughs.
I laugh too and then look at my menu.
"I think I'll get a taco salad too." I say as I put it down.
She smiles at me and I smile back.
It may seem pretty downstream for a fancy restaurant, but that's literally the lease fancy thing on the menu. Sophie doesn't like fancy places, she doesn't like going out at all, she just likes cooking and then eating what she makes.
I look up at Thomas and Katie and see that he picked a flower from the centerpiece and put it in her ear.
I look at it and then look at her. She didn't need the flower in her ear to make her look more perfect than she was, so I just took one and gave it to her.
"Can't you get in trouble for that?" She asks me with a laugh as she smells the flower.
I shrug my shoulders and she laughs again.
"Its a fake flower."
I laugh and hold onto my stomach.
"Its still a nice flower." I say after I'm done.
She nods in agreement.

When we're done with our meals, the waiter takes the plates and we all just talk.
"Well, I think its time we go home, yeah?" Thomas says as he looks at Katie.
"Yeah, I'm knackered. I'll drive you home." Katie says back to Thomas as she looks at me.
"Is that okay? Can you take Sophie home?" She asks as she looks from me to Sophie.
"Yeah, that's fine." I say as I smile cheekly.
Thomas and Katie get up and leave and we do the same.
"Oh," I say as I look at Sophies jacket on her chair.
"Don't forget this."
I put the jacket on her and she looks at me.
"Thanks." She says as she smiles.
We both walk out and we get in the car.
"So, I noticed that you and Thomas are simiar with the way you guys treat your girlfriends?" Sophie says as she buckles her seatbelt.
I look at the road for a moment before replying.
"Ya think so?"
She nods and laughs.
"You know you just have to be yourself, right?" She asks as she looks at me.
"If I wanted someone like Thomas I would have hung around Thomas. I like Will, so you should act like him."
She gives me a hearty smile and looks ahead of us.
"Sorry," I say apologizing.
"I just thought, since they have been together longer, that if I acted like him then maybe you'd stick around me."
I laugh as I rethink my words, even though she looks pleased with them, very pleased actually because she doesn't say anything.
"Too much?" I ask as I wince a little bit.
Her mouth moves to say something but nothing comes out that time, but the next time she gets words out.
"I love you for you, Will. Don't ever forget that."
