I listen to the voices of Will and Dylan as they come up to the front door after they had gone somewhere tonight.
I couldn't clearly hear what they were saying, and I wasn't necessarily trying to.
Dylan and Will have been hanging out a lot lately and it really made me feel left out and alone all the time, always at the house doing nothing like I was now.
I hear the door open and then close. I resisted the urge to jump up and go see if he wanted to do something, knowing that he would be tired and what not.
"Hey." I hear a voice say beside me.
My whole body jumps and I hold onto the arm of the couch I was sitting on.
My eyes couldn't even meet his face, so I just kept them on something behind him.
"Hey." I say back to him.
"Did you and Dylan have a good time?"
My eyes make there way towards his face and of course, I should have known that he would have gotten drunk with Dylan. That's what they usually done together. And if course I was the one who had to deal with the aftermath.
I furrow my eyebrows and look at the ground.
"It was f-fine. How was your... day?" He asks while pausing a few times, probably to think about what to say.
"Fine. Fine. How's Dylan doing?" I ask Will.
I look up at him, only to see his face twist up.
"He's doing good." He says while taking his jacket off, revealing his white t-shirt.
"Why do you always ask about Dylan do you like him or something?" Will asks while looking at me, acting like he was joking when in reality he wasn't.
I shake my head.
"No, I never met the guy." I say. Will drops his jacket on the floor and turns towards me.
"Are you saying you would like him if you met him." He asks.
"Because I know you've seen him before. I bet you like him, don't you?!"
I look at the wall in front of my instead of at Will on the left side of me.
"I was just asking about him." I say calmly.
"What was that?" Will asks as he comes in front of me, blocking my view of the wall.
"Nothing Will, just leave it alone." I say as I try to get up and leave his presence, instead, he grabs my arm and yanks it back towards him.
"Please, talk to me." He says in an angry voice.
I don't look back at him, I don't want to.
"I don't like Dylan and let go of my arm." I say as I yank my arm back towards my body.
I do get it back and I don't hesitate to rub it where he grabbed onto it.
My breathing was increasing slightly as I began to get fearful of Will, its never been like this before. I would usually just have to see him come through the door and then he would go to sleep, what's so different with this time?
I finally get the nerve to look back at him.
When I do, he lifts his hand up and it comes crashing down onto my face.
Before my face had that burning sensation on my cheek, I just looked at him wondering what he had just done.
That's the sad thing, I had to ask myself what just happened. I felt a hot tear run down my face as I lift my hand up to feel my cheek.
I look him in the eyes for the first time tonight and he shows a sign of guilt. I know because his face fell and he was reaching out to hug me.
I slid backwards away from him and just looked at his outstretched arms.
"What do you think you're doing?" I ask him as I stay in place.
His lips move like he was about to say something but nothing came out clearly.
"I'm sorry, (Y/N), I'm so-sorry." He quickly reaches forward and pulls my hand away from my face, easily.
He keeps my hand in his while his other hand grazed my cheek while his eyes studied it.
I look up at him while he does this and I don't understand why I didn't just leave.
Before I am pulled out of my thoughts his lips connect with my cheek and I feel it burn under them.
"Stop." I say as I push his face away.
He just looks at me and I knew it wasn't necessarily his fault, he was intoxicated, but then again, that didn't give him a reason to hit me.
"I'm sorry, please forgive me." He says.
I questioned it, I really did, but then again, I knew that maybe this was something that could stop before it became a habit.
"Its okay." I say.
I go to say something else, but I had nothing else to say.
Especially after he gave me a hug
"I love you." He says.
I couldn't say it back, but he knew I did by forgiving him.
