Will's Point Of View.

I couldn't keep my eyes off of them, there she sat with her back to me with some guy giving her the attention she always deserved and here I was sitting by myself, looking at them like a creep.
I guess I couldn't keep my gaze of of them because I miss her.
She hadn't changed much, usually in a year someone would practically be a different person, but her? No way, she has been the same since middle school, absolutely nothing has changed, except for the fact that we were no longer together.
I miss the girl. I missed her when we both split and I missed her when we were dating. I would miss her when she was asleep while I was awake and I'd miss her when she was at home while I was at the gym. I would just long for her presence and it's sadly been a year and I still do. I will just miss her for a long time, even when I'm easily distracted, I'll take a split second to think of her again.
I was glad to see her again, I was glad to see she was still healthy.
I couldn't take it anymore, I had to talk to her like I've always thought of. Yeah, I'll admit, who doesn't think about what would happen if you ran into your ex? I have a few times.
I decided to stand up and go over there, to finally stop staring at her with admiration and just talk to her like a normal person.
Before I reached her table, her boyfriend had given me a look causing her to look behind her and directly at me.
It's true what you see in the movies, well, one thing was, you do freeze and you freak out.
"Will? Hi." She says surprisingly.
She stood up and had done the unthinkable, she hugged me and I hugged back. The touch just felt so great against me, the fact that she was just there and I was here was just perfect.
"Hi, how have you been?" I ask.
"I've been good." She says as she pulls away, leaving me cold.
She looks back at her boyfriend and looks at me with her mouth agap.
"What, um, what about you?"
I nod my head and smile.
"Good, I've been better but I'm not in a bad state." I say.
"I'm glad to hear that."
We both stood there awkwardly while looking at each other, and I actually felt bad for her boyfriend who was just sitting there.
I look over at him and realize he's the complete opposite of myself.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Will." I say as I smile at him.
"I'm Dravin, nice to meet you too."
I look down at her and smile.
"It's good to see you, (Y/N)." I say.
"You too." She says.
Dravin stands up and comes up to both of us, his hand making its way to her shoulder.
"I think my wallet is in the car, can you help me find it?" He asks.
"I don't want to not have it on me."
I keep my eyes on his hand and she seems to have noticed but that's not really bothering me.
"Yeah," she says as she looks at me.
"We'll be right back."
I nod and decided to take a seat at the table beside theirs.

(Y/N) Point Of View.

"Old friend of yours?" Dravin asks me as we open the car doors.
"Ex." I say as I look on the floor boards.
"Oh, damn, I was about to ask you if he likes men. Guess not." He says as he laughs.
I do too knowing that if Will heard that he'd be confused.
"I think he thinks you're with me." I say.
Dravin looks up at me through his lashes.
"You're kidding."
I shake my head no.
"Can, can you maybe play along with it? Please? I want to make him jealous. Please." I ask as I look at the wallet he has found.
"Sure." He says.
We both walk back in to find Will sitting at the table beside ours, tapping away on his phone probably talking to a girl that he likes.
I take hold of Dravin's hand quickly, and that's when he looks back at us, making immediate eye contact with our hands.
That must hurt him, and as bad as it sounds, I liked that it did.
"Found it." Dravin says as he flashes Will his wallet.
"I hate when I lose mine." Will says while laughing.
Dravin and I both sit down as he opens his wallet, checking everything through.
"How long have you guys been together?" Will asks.
"About a month." Dravin answers before me. I was going to say two months but that would sound bad to me.
"Nice, nice." Will replies.
"Well, it was nice seeing you again and meeting you Dravin, but I have to go take care of my friend." Will says.
"I'll hopefully see you both again."
We say our goodbyes and he leaves.

"Dravin, I need to go after him." I say as I wait a few seconds after Will left.
"Then go girl, I'm not offended, I'm not really your man." He says.
I would have laughed if I didn't have to chase Will down.
"Will, wait." I say as I find him by his car, the same car he's had since he was 17.
"Yeah?" He asks as his eyebrows furrow.
"He's gay." I say.
"Dravin, he's into men, we aren't really a thing."
He looks shocked and I guess he really was, he didn't even say, 'oh' like most would have.
"I miss you, Will." I say, I took a chance that I've wanted to make for a while.
Will smiles and its such a nice sight to see, knowing I made it happen.
"I miss you too, (Y/N)." He says as he looks me up and down.
"I was just thinking earlier how I loved the fact that you didn't change much." He says while stuffing his hands into the pockets of his black jeans.
"You haven't either, except for your height maybe." I say.
He found that funny, but I was being serious.
"Yeah, I actually thought I couldn't get any taller. Guess not." He says.
"It's not a bad thing."
We both look at each other for a longer period of time until he speaks up.
"Well, I'm going to go, I think Dravin really misses you." He says as he points behind me with his head.
I look behind me and Dravin is up against the window practically and he waves.
I laugh and look back at Will.
"Can we start talking again?" I ask.
"Yeah, um, yeah." He says quickly while rubbing the back of his neck.
"Of course we can."
Another silence is brought between us, until I stepped forward and gave him a hug, wondering if it will be the last one or not.
He was surprised but relaxed into it after a second.
He smiles at me when we pull apart and I smile back.
We both say our goodbyes and then we go our separate ways.

I never knew what was more tragic. Looking for him wherever I went or knowing that he wouldn't be there.
But here we were.
