Will's Point Of View

"Games?" I ask (y/n) as she looks at me.
She nods her head simply and sits down on the floor with her legs crossed, even though there's a couch right there behind us.
I had no other choice than to follow what she did.
This girl was such a riot, just so far out there that she started to bring boring me, boring Will Poulter, out of his boring shell. And I'll be the first to admit that it felt nice for a change not to seem strange to other people ever since I started hanging out with (y/n) which was a short amount of time.
Matter of fact, this week would be the fourth week that we have known each other and it's been great.
Some of my friends even noticed that I started acting differently than I use to be, and it feels weird to even think about my old-ish self and to think about how people saw me.
It was just weird to hear people say, "you're not as shy as you were a week ago."
"Games." (Y/n) says as she looks at me with her nicely shaped eyes that had only a small amount of makeup on them.
Her face brightly gave off a radiant smile that made me smile in return.
I just couldn't help myself.
Whenever she smiled, I myself had to just cracked one, and it was so strange how a simple smile from this one person would make me do the same.
"What kind of games?" I ask as I watch her slip her hands underneath the sleeves of her sweatshirt.
"I was thinking that one game where you guess things about each other." She says as she laughs.
Her cheeks show smile lines as the vibrant sound of laughter escapes her lips and into my ears.
Her eyes show youth as they squint together.
"Like kids use to do." She adds.
I smile and nod my head.
"Okay." I say.
We both sit there smiling at each other for a moment and then I start off.
"Guess my favorite, animal." I say as I pause for a moment, thinking of something for her to guess about me.
She looked around the room we were in and then at me.
"I'm not saying this because you're tall or anything, but I'm going to say giraffes."
After she says that, I start laughing and she does too, which gives me a priceless delight.
"Sure, sure. You're saying that because of my height." I say as I smile into my lap.
"But yeah, I guess you're right, point one for you."
She laughs and looks to her right before looking at me again.
"There are no points, but hey, you can keep track if you want." She says.
I smile at her and put my hand by hers on the ground.
"Elephant." I say.
She looks at my hand and I see a small blush creep up on her cheeks.
"Huh.... what?" She asks in a daze as she looKS up from my hands to my face.
That's when I knew she was paying attention to my hand.
"Elephant. Is that your favorite animal?" I ask again.
She shakes her head no and looks all around my face.
"No, I actually really love hippos."
I nod my head as if that was actually something else I would consider her loving.
"I can see you as a hippo lover." I say.
She smiles and laughs.
"You're turn. Pick a topic." I say as I watch her think.
"Favorite color." She says.
She looks down at herself and laughs.
"It's not obvious or anything."
I smile and look at her appearance.
I would have guessed it to be blue. She looks good in blue.
"Blue?" I ask.
She laughs and says, "yes."
I smile and look at the clock for a moment.
She notices and looks at me with confusion.
"Somewhere you have to be?" She asks as she looks me in the eyes.
"No, not at all. Just checking the time, I don't want you to go home at night." I say, after all it was true.
She smiles and laughs.
"Yellow."
I almost question why she said it, but I knew what she was talking about.
I furrow my eyebrows and laugh.
"Yellow?"
"Yellow!" She says as if she's a kid.
All bubbly and giddy as if she really thought it was yellow. Her laugh was fantastic. And her eyes showed that she was happy.
Her happiness made my happiness show.
I smile and laugh more, more to make me put my hands up to my face and laugh heavily into my palms.
She does the same thing and leans forward putting her arms around me while laughing.

She said my favorite color in the first try.
I didn't really give the question much thought, and to be quite honest with you, I never have. I wasn't fond of any color more than the next.
A color was just a color to me.
But when she yelled, "yellow" it, she had this excitement and energetic laugh to her and that smile that could light up a darkness so dark, that you couldn't see your own hands in front of you.
When she yelled that yellow with that shining sensation in her eyes, it made me realize that yellow was now my favorite color.
Since then, I have not seen the seemingly most hated color in the world the same way.
In fact, I saw more beauty in it.
It made me happy.
It made me realize that yellow was a happy color and that's because someone put it there and it was her.

And honestly, I like the color so much, I think that I could live in a world full of yellow now.
