Evie woke up the next morning to a buzzing sound. After sitting up and stretching she turned to her nightstand to see her phone lighting up with a new message. Ben had made it a point to get them all phones once they were settled in.

Evie clicked on the message and smiled when she saw it was Doug.

"Hey. Can you meet me at the picnic tables at 2?"

Evie grinned and responded.

"Sure! See you then! xx"

Evie and Doug had grown very close, and although nothing was official yet, Evie hoped it would be soon.

She got out of her bed and opened the curtains, filling the room with light and causing a sleepy Mal to groan.

"Why are you up so early?" She complained.

"It's almost 10!" Evie replied. "You gotta wake up! You can't sleep for a thousand years." She smirked.

"Watch me," Mal said flipping onto her stomach and putting the pillow over her head.

Evie giggled at her best friend's antics and walked into the bathroom. She started the shower and waited for the water to heat up.

Evie loved the showers in Auradon. On the Isle, clean water was scarce, and so were any showers or bathtubs. She, like most of the island, usually had a giant metal tub lying around for bathing purposes. Her mother always heated water on the stove, treating her like the princess she strives to be.

After her shower, Evie got dressed and did her makeup, although she didn't always go as crazy with it as she used to, now that she was away from her mothers disapproving glare and realized that she was more than a pretty face.

When she left the bathroom she was relieved to find that Mal was up and ready.

"Why are we up? It's Saturday?" She questioned.

"Because we're going to do something fun." Evie smiled. "Now let's go get the guys."

Evie pulled Mal by the hand out of the room and into the boy's dorm. She knocked on the door once before entering, only to find Dude barking at the closed bathroom door and Carlos struggling to quiet him. Dude lost interest at the door when the girls walked in, and ran over to greet them, a  tired Carlos following behind.

"Don't you just look like a ray of sunshine," Mal teased.

"Ha ha," Carlos sassed. "Jays sick. And every time he got up during the night Dude would bark at the door. He thinks he's dying in there or something."

"Oh," Evie said sadly.  She got up from petting Dude and strolled over to the bathroom door, knocking lightly. "Everything alright?"

Jay opened the door and smiled softly at the girls, although his eyes looked red and tired.

"Everything's great," he lied. He walked across the room and picked up a t-shirt that was hanging on a chair.

"What are you doing?" Mal asked.

"We got practice today," Jay shrugged.

"Okay you are NOT going anywhere," Mal announced.

"I'm fine," Jay smirked. "Really."

The girls probably would've believed him too; if he didn't dart to the bathroom and slam the door.

Evie frowned. "Well we can't do anything with him sick like this."

"Take turns watching him?" Mal suggested.

"Sounds alright," Evie shrugged. "Carlos?"

The girls turned to see that Carlos had fallen asleep in the chair where he sat, his head hanging loosely in front of him. He woke up with a start when the girls chuckled.
