"Turn," Evie directed Mal as she tried on her purple dress for the dance.
Mal spun around and Evie smiled
"It's perfect," Evie clapped.
The dress was a dark purple, and covered one shoulder. It went down about to Mal's knees and had ruffles from the waist down.
"What do you think?" Evie asked.
"I love it," Mal admitted.
"Great!" Evie screeched.
"How's yours coming along?" Mal asked.
"Beautifully," Evie smiled. "Did you check with Ben to make sure his tie would match?"
"Yeah," Mal sighed.
"You sure?" Evie asked doubtfully.
"Promise."
"Good," Evie said sitting down at the sewing machine.
"I can't believe you don't have a date," Mal admitted.
Evie shrugged.
"I mean you've never not had a date," Mal added.
"I got offers," Evie said looking up from her dress. "I just wasn't interested in any of them."
"I'm guessing it's because none of their names are Jay," Mal smirked as Evie blushed.
"Maybe," Evie sighed as she continues sewing.
Mal lied on her stomach on Evie's bed as she continues the conversation.
"Anything change with that?" Mal questioned.
"With Jay?" Evie asked. "No."
"So?" Mal started. "Make a move. Be forward."
"It's not that easy," Evie admitted. "I'm used to being chased. I flirt a lot, but I've never actually chased someone I've been interested in. Well besides Chad, but that was different. I just wanted his castle. I like Jay for who he is."
"I see," Mal nodded. "So if he were to ask you to dance you would say yes?"
Evie froze and looked up at her friend.
At that moment the door burst open to show Jay and Carlos, wearing tuxes and posing as they walked around the room.
"You like?" Jay asked the girls.
"I think we rock this," Carlos admitted.
The girls laughed and nodded as Jay lied down on Mal's bed and Carlos walked over to Evie.
"How's your dress coming along?" He asked curiously.
"Perfectly," Evie smiled. "And it's done!"
Evie picked up the dress and ran into the bathroom to try it on. Mal walked to the mirror in the room and looked at her reflection.
"Evie made that?" Carlos asked.
"Yeah."
"It's sweet," Jay admitted.
"Yeah she's pretty good," Mal smiled looking at the boys. "Too bad she's going to the dance alone..."
"Evie didn't get a date!?!" Jay asked surprised.
"No," Mal shook her head. "She said no to everyone who asked."
"Wonder why..." Carlos said rubbing his chin in fake wonder.
Jay scoffed as the two looked at him and lied down in the bed.
"You two think you're so funny," he shook his head.
Mal took a seat in the chair at the table. "Oh so I guess that means you don't want to know what she says about you..."
"She talks about me?" Jay said, sitting up in the bed. "What... What does she say?" He asked trying to sound nonchalant.
"Oh wouldn't you like to know," Mal smirked.
"Why don't you just ask her?" Carlos asked the long haired boy.
Jay squinted his eyes at the two. "And why would I do that?"
"Because you like her," Carlos prompted.
Jay started to shake his head.
"Don't even try to deny it," Mal said pointedly. "You've liked her since we went to the Isle of the Doomed."
Jay kept the same look on his face as Carlos spoke up.
"You always ask about her," Carlos added.
"Do not," Jay scoffed.
"Do to!" Carlos yelled. "Admit it!"
Jay looked from Carlos to Mal.
"So what," he shrugged. "Who cares."
"We do!" Carlos practically yelled.
"If you don't do something you might regret it for the rest of your life," Mal pointed out.
"So what do I do?" Jay asked.
"Tell her the truth," Carlos said as if it were obvious.
Jay opened his mouth to speak as Evie stepped out of the bathroom in her dark blue dress. It was darker than the one for the coronation and was shorter, with gold splashes.
"Wow..." He breathed.
"You guys like it?" Evie asked hopefully.
They all nodded frantically as Evie smiled.
"Good," she smiled as she spun.
Mal and Carlos looked at Jay, and Jay looked at the two of them. He knew he had to do something before he lost the opportunity.
Meanwhile, Chad and Audrey were at the museum. It had taken awhile, but eventually they found Jafar's scepter that he had while he was royal vizier of Agrabah.
"There's a force field," Chad said, defeated.
Audrey looked at the clear shield before pointing up.
"Look!" She yelled. "That's what powers it."
"We can break it!" Chad yelled at her as he confidently took off his shoe and wound up to throw it.
"No!" Audrey yelled as she grabbed hold of his arm. "Not now."
"Why not?" Chad asked.
"There too many people around. We can't just walk around with the scepter in plain daylight." Audrey explained.
"So when can we do this?" Chad asked.
Audrey thought about it for a moment.
"At the dance tomorrow night!" She exclaimed. "We'll sneak out!"
Chad sighed. "Whatever."
Audrey looked up at the scepter. They would actually be able to pull this off.
