Mal crossed her arms and glared at a still-sleeping Evie. She'd been like this for the past week; sleeping in until the last possible moment. Now Mal always found herself being the first one up; and she didn't like it.
"Evie get up," she threatened.
Evie just groaned in defiance.
"Evie what has gotten into you?" Mal complained. "You're always the first one up. I WILL drag you out of bed."
"Shhh," Evie cooed.
"Did you just 'shhh' me?" Mal awed.
"I'm dreaming," Evie responded, obviously talking in her sleep. "He's here...."
"Who?" Mal questioned. Her first thought was Doug, but she shrugged it off after seeing Evie break down the previous week. She knew he broke up with her, and she was glad that her friend was slowly, but surely, getting over it. Mal knew this after walking in on Jay and Evie's little 'cuddle session' as she called it. Although she was supportive of the two if they ever decided to get together, she hasn't spoken a word to anyone about what she witnessed.
"Knock, knock," Carlos said opening the door and walking in. Jay was close behind.
"Big game today!" Jay yelled rubbing his hands together.
"Shhh," Mal reprimanded, pointing to the unconscious Evie. "Sleeping Beauty hasn't woken up yet."
"Again?" Carlos questioned.
"What is up with her?" Jay wondered.
"She dreaming," Mal teased. "About a boy."
Carlos laughed.
"I'll get her up," Jay smirked. He walked around the bed so that Evie was facing away from him. He shot a glance at a giggling Carlos and Mal who was biting her lip to keep from laughing. He let out a chuckle himself before lying in the edge of the bed. "GOOD MORNING!" He yelled into the princess's messy hair.
Evie turned around to face Jay and opened her sleepy eyes. Jay expected her to let out a yell and push him off the bed, as had happened so many times before, but instead she surprised everyone when she wrapped an arm around his shoulder and buried her face in his chest. A shocked Jay wrapped his arms around her loosely before looking up at the two ex-villains in confusion. Carlos shrugged and Mal's eyes grew wide with understanding.
"Um... Evie?" Jay asked.
Evie pulled back her head and opened her eyes, which grew wide when she realized who was with her. She pushed herself back and fell off her side of the bed, standing up as soon as she hit the ground.
"I um..... I," Evie tried to explain to the two confused boys and a smirking Mal.
"I need to use the bathroom."Evie nearly ran into the bathroom and shut the door behind her.
"What was that!?!" Carlos laughed.
"I don't know, man," Jay shrugged.
"Oh," Mal teased. "You don't? Don't you remember last week?"
Mal walked next to Carlos and bent over to his height, wrapping her arms around his torso and pouting her lips and she put her head on his shoulder, maintaining eye contact with Jay. Carlos's jaw dropped and he laughed as Mal attempted to mock Evie.
"Shut up," the older boy pouted, getting up from the bed and fixing his vest.
"Jay," Carlos said as he moved out of Mal's grip and walked over to his best friend. "Is there something you need to tell me?" He teased.
