Chapter 4

Nico's POV

 I walked out the door and saw something that surprised me.This abandoned warehouse was not abandoned.there were people every where.There were people chatting,doing laundry,reading,all sorts of things.There were a least 8 children running around chasing each other.But mostly,there were cats.Cats everywhere.In the rafters,on the floor,even sitting on some of the people.It looked like most of the stray cats in New York had decided to come and live in the warehouse.Jess started walking up to a podium in the front.Whenever I passed someone they looked up at me with the same cat-like eyes as Jess.They ranged from light baby blue to black.Jess stood up on the podium and yowled loudly.People came out of rooms and the cats looked up or down from wherever they were.Then all the cats gathered in the middle and meowed.I closed my eyes as a bright light almost blinded.It reminded me of when a god went into their true forms.I opened my eyes and looked at the giant group of cats,but was surprised to see they turned into..

Jess's POV

  I opened the door and told the kid to follow me.I have to ask him his name at some point.I started walking up to the podium and saw with amusement that he was shocked to see so many cats. I went into his mind briefly and saw that he was interested in why so many people were in this warehouse.Also.his name was Nico. A couple of my people looked up and he looked strangely at their eyes.That's to be expected,seeing as he probably had never seen a Hengeneko,much less a group of them.I got up on the podium and told everyone to be human.They jumped into the middle and even the kits came out,the ones that were old enough of course.They huddled in the middle and said the changing words.I closed my eyes and waited for the light to die down.I chuckled to myself when i saw Nico look amazed.I looked at my people as they went to sit with their family and friends.I took a deep breath and began to tell them what had happened from the morning to now.
