Chapter 6

Jess's POV

    I saw Sky slowly step up to be the first to greet our new guest,I looked kindly at Sky as to say thank you.She came up and introduced herself and he held out his hand in the human way of greeting,but he was one of us for now,so Sky did the Hengeneko way of greeting she bowed her head and rubbed her head around his waist. He looked surprised.When Sky was done she stood up and said to the group,"Well?What are you waiting for?Lets welcome our guest."After that everyone came to greet him.I saw Jace be one of the first.I like Jace,he's a suitable mate for my adopted kit.When Sky first arrived she was barely a half moon old. I took her in and showed her how to turn into her true form.She grown into a fine hunter and almost perfect fighter.She has a soft shiny tabby coat and her eyes are a beautiful golden color.She and Jace have been become rather close.I shook myself out of my thoughts and saw that Sky and Jace were showing a large amount of affection at the moment.One of the younger kits,Samantha,i think stood up and shouted"Look!Finally!"Everyone turned to look at them and they pulled away blushing a deep rose red.I smiled.This turned out to be a rather interesting day."Ok,everyone go back to your business."I said.Jace went to go do something and almost everyone went back to their true forms.I went into mine and shook out my fur.It felt so good to be on four legs again.I went to Sky and saw she was covered in scratches."Hi,mother."She said happily."Sky what happened why are you covered in scratches?" I asked."Oh,I got into a fight with a couple of rats,but i don't think anythings infected."She said,clearly hiding something.I saw one of the elders leading Mark to the healer's room.I looked back at Sky."Did one of those rats have cat claws and a strange obsession with you?"I asked.She looked down guiltily."He made fun of the fact I have no real parents."She said."That kind of hurt me.I pushed Sky's head up with my paw slowly."Remember something Sky."I said slowly."You will always have me, and im sorry if im not your real mother but i will always be here for you."I turned back to human form and picked Sky up in a hug.She turned into human form and gave me a hug back."Im sorry if I made you feel like your not my mother,you were the only one who wanted to take me in and I love you."She was crying into my chest.I hugged her tighter."I love you,Sky."I said."I love you to,mother."She said.She wiped away her tears and looked at me."Now,how about you show me what you caught on your hunting mission?" She brightened up and turned back and started to go to the prey pile.I turned to Nico and told him to follow us.Then I turned to my true form and made my way to Sky with Nico in tow.
