Catalina

I awoke to the sun that shone gleamingly throughout the room.

I squinted my eyes and rolled over with a sigh, I oddly did not feel the need to get up but then, I remembered that today was the day that I would be leaving. I laid there looking up at the ceiling, this was the last time I would be looking at this ceiling and laying in this bed. This was the last time that I would be in this organisation and around the people that I had grown to care for.

Speaking of such, I still haven't had the courage to face everyone, knowing it would possibly be the last time i'd be seeing them. I'm bad at goodbyes. Then again, Ms. Delatore might have already announced that I am leaving to everyone, It's something she normally does. I shook my head at the thought and finally arose from my bed. I went straight into the restroom to have a shower and freshen up. As soon as I was finished, I heard a knock on the room door. Wrapping the towel tightly around my body, I proceeded to the door and rested my hand upon it, "Who is it?" I questioned,

I heard a small sniffle before someone's voice was heard, "May I come in, Catalina?" Evelyn asked. A small smile appeared on my face and I turned the knob on the door before pulling it open. Suddenly, I was being engulfed into a hug — I nearly stumbled back. Even then, I undoubtedly returned her hug, "Why didn't you tell us?" she whispered. I sighed, "I only just found out yesterday" I slowly pulled away, "I didn't think I could have handled saying goodbye"

Evelyn came all the way into the room and closed the door behind her, "Oh..." she trailed off with a sigh, "we're all going to miss you" she stated. "I know. I still can't believe that I will be leaving" I said. Walking over to the restroom, I entered with my clothes and began to put them on after I had dried off. "It is not really that bad if you think about it, I mean, its the Royal family...is it not?" I heard her say.

I slightly frowned and stuck my head out of the restroom door, "How did you know?", "Mistress told me. I was the only one though. She said, she knows that we are close"

I nodded, "Oh".

After I had finished getting dressed in a my black trousers and beige buttoned up shirt, I exited the restroom to see Evelyn now sitting on my average sized bed, "How do you think I look?" I glanced down at my clothes,

"You look beautiful. As always" she commented, "Thank you". The room fell silent as I took my luggages from underneath the bed and placed them by the door, "Are you...nervous?"

I looked up at Evelyn and shook my head, "No. The only thing that I am feeling right now is sadness. I really don't want to leave, Evelyn" I stated.

"If it makes you feel any better, I only have about a month here before I am shipped off to God knows where" She gave a reassuring small smile. "That, does not make me feel any better because then, I won't know where you are. I won't be able to send letters or anything" I sat on the bed, fiddling with my fingers.

"Hey, I'm quite positive Mistress won't send me very far. She knows that all we have is each other. We are best friends, are we not?" She stated. Evelyn and I have a lot in common. She lost her mother at a very young age and we are both basically the same age for her birthday is next month, July. Okay...maybe not so much. But, we understand each other and we have grown very close. We are like sisters. Speaking of such, Evelyn has a younger sister that is fifteen years old.

I shrugged, "Perhaps you are right",

"I know I am. So, cheer up...at least you will be around the royal family. I hear that they are very..." She trailed off,

"Strict?" I raised my eyebrows, "I was going to say cool, fancy and interesting, but I guess that's an adjective we can use too" She giggled. I smiled and opened my mouth to say something, but another knock was heard on the door. Instantly, I knew that it was Ms. Delatore.
