Catalina

As Celeste lead the way to Mrs. Bieber's office, we said nothing to each other.

I was sort of relieved because it gave me a short time to think. About everything. About how one scenery could change so quickly...just a few minutes ago, I was saying goodbye to everyone at the organisation. Now, I am no longer there and I just had to accept that. I needed to adjust.

After just a few second or so of walking, Celeste led me down a long hallway until we came upon a big double door. "Well, this is it. You can just knock and wait for it to be opened" she said, "I will see you around, Catalina" She gave a small smile before leaving me, standing there in front of the door.

I raised my hand and hesitantly knocked three times. I waited, only for the door to be opened a few seconds later. "Catalina, come in" Mrs. Bieber said, closing the door after I had entered. I admired her office, it was really beautiful and...fancy. The more I looked around, I realised that Mrs. Bieber and I were not the only ones in the office, there was a man that sat at the desk that rested in the middle of the room. He wore a black suit with a tie, his hair was cut short and he had a serious look on his face. I had assumed instantly that he was the king...Mrs. Bieber's husband.

I gulped, taking a deep breath, feeling my hands starting to slightly shake by my side. "Ms. Delatore left already?" I asked lowly,

"Yes. She left" Ms. Bieber said,

Just then, Mr. Bieber sat up in his seat and leaned forward, "Who are your parents?" was what he asked, His thick british accent sounding stern. "I-I...I do not know my father and my mother died when I was young"

"Catalina, is it?" He raised his eyebrows, I nodded, "Yes, master" Mr. Bieber smiled, "Good to know you have manners..." he trailed off, "But, you are of a very rare...kind. I am particularly not intrigued by that, my wife here thinks differently and that is the precise reason as to why you are standing in front of me" He stated, his expression returning to a serious one.

He paused, then continued, "You are mixed. Some might think that you are different but in my eyes, you are just like everyone else-"

"With all due respect master, I know that I am just like everyone else. I do not wish to be treated differently-", I instantly stopped talking when Mr. Bieber slammed his hands down on the desk, getting up, "Do not interrupt me when I am speaking!"

"I do not know what Rebecca made you get away with at that organisation but here, it is different. You are now under our custody...we own you and everyone else so do not make me do something that will make Rebecca regret she ever sent you here" His voice was hard and full of venom. I swore my breathing hitched for a minute as the feeling of fear took over, I instantly felt intimidated and dared not to make that mistake again.

"I'm sorry" I whispered, my voice almost hardly audible. I glanced over at Mrs. Bieber to see her now sitting on one of the seats. She was really quiet. I looked directly at Mr. Bieber as he sat down again, taking a deep breath, "As I was saying, You are black and just like everyone else...you will be treated the same"

"The first rule of this home, is to do as you are told" I heard Mrs. Bieber say, "Second, you are here to work as a slave so we have a zero tolerance level when it pertains to anyone who works for us" she added,

"That is right. We also have three children as I am pretty sure you already know, and slaves do not converse with our children unless they are being spoken to" Mr. Bieber said, he folded his arms and leaned back in his seat, "Anything they say, goes. They should not have to make a complaint"
