Marceline's P.O.V.

"B-but that's not fair!" I said back as he started to walk away. Lemongrab turned around for a moment.

"Marceline, detention tomorrow no trial!" He yelled and with that he walked away.

I sighed, annoyed, and started floating down the hall with my usual bad posture. Bonnie was walking next to me. It was quiet until I broke the silence, "Good job back there." I smirked at her but noticed that she was frowning and her eyes were glued to the ground. "What's wrong?"

"I can't believe I did that. I just made a huge mistake." She shook her head.

"Bonnie no you didn't. You stood up for yourself and that's something a lot of people don't have the guts to do." I stopped walking and when she realized so did she. "It was the right thing to do."

"No! You don't understand." She yelled, "I rule the candy kingdom, I need to have a good reputation because if not what kind of example am I setting. How does that make me look as a princess? I'm not like you, Marceline! I can't do whatever I want, I have to think over every little thing I say or do because one wrong move and everything goes down hill. I'll disappoint my parents and fail the candy people." She held her face in her hands. "I'm insecure and I care what they all think."

At first I was taken aback by her sudden outburst but then felt upset seeing her like this. It wasn't until now that I thought about how stressful it must be to be sixteen and have this much responsibility. I frowned, "Bonnie," I went to hug her but she quickly pushed me away, taking me off guard.

"I'm sorry, Marcy. I can't do this anymore..." She avoided looking at me as she said this. Then she stormed past me and out the front doors of the school, leaving me alone in the school hallways in shock that I just lost the only one I love.
