Marceline's P.O.V.

By now we were all sitting criss crossed on the floor in a circle, basically just exchanging awkward glances. Lsp's voice interrupted our thoughts, like she had all morning.

"So like, I have a feeling we should exchange our dark past now cause it seems like the time." We stayed silent, earning her to groan, "Ok Finn what's up with you like, have you ever gone to jail or something?"

"What? No!" He gave her a raised eyebrow until his face turned to a frown, "My parents kind of... abandoned me." Jake reached over and patted him on the shoulder, giving him a comforting smile.

"My parents were such jerks. Thinking they could boss me around all the time. When I moved out they... they didn't even care! They just let me live in the forest." She crossed her arms and turned away from us.

"My dad always wanted a boy. He wanted a boy to rule the Flame Kingdom and its taken years to convince him to let me rule." Phoebe stared at her hands, "He's never believed in me. That I could have such a responsibility." She suddenly jumped up and set a table on fire, causing it to turn to ash and dust.

We started exchanging looks again, but this times it wasn't awkward, it was understanding. Out of the blue, "My dad always pushed me to rule the Nightosphere. I don't want to but he doesn't understand. I like this world more than that one. In this one people actually have feelings."

"But don't you want to rule? To have control and power." Fp piped in.

"It's not worth it."

Bonnie parted her lips, as if she was about to say something but hesitated. "My parents don't understand..."

I noticed Jake looking back and forth between us and I could tell we were both curious as to whether or not she would say anything else.

"Don't understand what?" Lsp's eyes were wide, she was probably loving this drama despite the fact she'd been crying like Finn and Phoebe.

"They don't understand love. Their parents chose who they married - they were forced to marry each other. There's no real love in their relationship, so they don't know what it means."

I was biting my lip, a knot in my stomach. Lsp gasped, "Oh my glob, you have found someone! Gush!"

Bonnie froze, realizing there probably was no way to get out of this. I could tell her mind was racing with thoughts, and so was mine. "A year ago... I fell in love with someone. Real love like.. When you even think about them your heart flutters and you want nothing more but to see them and just be in their presence. And your heart hurts when you can't be with them."

We all seemed taken aback by her rant until she soon continued, "I fell in love with -"

The school bell echoed through the building and we jumped at the sudden interruption before starting to walk down the hall. Lsp was begging to hear the ending as Jake and I looked at each other with wide eyes.

I hissed when the sun hit my face before pulling on my hood and floated with my head down. Something slip into my hand and when I looked up I saw Bonnie walking away, her hips swaying. With red cheeks, I pulled my attention to the white pearl earring in my palm. I put it on with a lopsided smile. Maybe detention wasn't that bad.
