Adventure Club (Part 1)

Princess Bubblegum's P.O.V.

   I started walking to school the next morning, rubbing the tiredness from my eyes. I could hardly sleep last night, which was even worst since I had to get up early on a Saturday morning.

   Yes I regretted what I said, but it was wrong of me to do this in the first place. To start a relationship I knew wouldn't work out. But that night after the dance, when we kissed, that was a moment where I was a teenager. I didn't care what anyone thought for a life changing moment. She was so care free at times and I suppose some of that rubbed off on me for a moment until I was hit with responsibility again.

   I pushed the front doors open and started walking down the hall. I pulled the material of my pink cardigan closer to me as I walked into the detention hall. Surprisingly Finn, Flame Princess, Jake, and Lsp sat around. And then I saw her. Marceline sat in the back with her feet propped on the table.

   I sat at the same table as Finn and Jake. "Hey, PB." Finn glanced over at me, "Surprised to see you here."

   And I was surprised he hadn't heard about what I did to get here. I assumed Breakfast Princess had stuck to her word and sent the video to everyone. "Same to you." I wondered about what Marcy thought about all this. Did she understand why I did what j did?

   "Uh, Princess?"

   I shook my head and turned my attention to Jake who was talking to me. "I'm sorry, what were you saying?"

   "Can I talk to you for a minute?"

   "Sure..." He took my hand and walked away from everyone else.

   "I can tell something happened. Marceline hasn't said a word to any of us all morning."

   I nodded, "Yeah uh last night... we broke up."

   His eyes widened slightly, "Is this about your parents again?"

   "Not entirely but that is part of it." I kept my eyes on the floor as I spoke. We walked back and sat down in case the teacher came back. We all sat in silence for a while. Occasionally I would look at the clock to see that it had only been five minutes since the last time I checked. At some point Marcy stood up.

   "Oh you broke my heart. I told you," Her voice echoed through the room as she sang. And she wasn't a bad singer at all, not that I'd admit it. "I was weak for love. But then you went around, and did what you wanted to do." She floated over the table we were sited at, "And now I'm crying, crying.." As she sang the last line she sunk to the table so that she was now sitting down on her legs, like this was some performance.

   "Oh It seemed like everything was going fine. I thought I found a love that was gonna last but then I found the truth."

   I crossed my arms and glared at her. Why was she making me look like a bad guy? I had a good reason for calling it off but that doesn't mean I love her any less. I thought she would be a little more understanding.

   She looked up at me, a smirk on her face, "What do you think?"

   "I think it's very distasteful." And with that I turned away from her.
