AUTHORS POV

As soon as Aadish stepped out, after making sure that his naughty brothers wouldn’t mess up his room or tempt his sensitive wife with ice cream, the atmosphere inside slowly turned playful. His strict instructions were still fresh, yet Rudra’s mischievous mind couldn’t stay calm for long.

“Bhabhi, sa ice cream? (Bhabhi, some ice cream?)” Rudra asked suddenly, his eyes sparkling with mischief as he licked his lips in an exaggerated way. He even twisted his face into all sorts of funny expressions, as if just the thought of ice cream was making his mouth water.

Om, not wanting to be left behind, tried to copy Rudra’s expressions. He puffed his cheeks, widened his eyes, and even moved his lips awkwardly, but no matter how hard he tried, he simply couldn’t match Rudra’s comic timing. His failed attempts made the whole scene even funnier, turning the room into a little bubble of laughter and joy.

“Mere pyaare dewar, chalo! (My dear brothers-in-law, let’s go!)” Avantika said cheerfully, giving both of them a high-five.

Barely a few minutes had passed when Aadish walked back into the room. And what he saw was nothing less than a shock. There, right in the middle, sat his lovely, beautiful, and innocent wife—sandwiched between his two little monsters, his younger brothers.

This so-called devar–bhabhi dimag-daar group (brother-in-law & sister-in-law smart gang) hadn’t even bothered to lock the door. And worse—his room. The room that belonged to him and Avantika. The room that Aadish kept spotless, where he didn’t even like the sight of a single housefly—was now turned into a complete mess.

Ice cream tubs, empty wrappers, snack packets, and who knows what else were scattered everywhere, making the place look like a dustbin. For a man like Aadish, who lived with strict discipline, the sight felt nothing less than hell arriving right at his doorstep.

“What the hell are you doing here?” Aadish’s voice thundered as he stepped inside, his sharp eyes scanning the mess.

All three—Avantika, Rudra, and Om—froze for a second before slowly turning their heads toward him, caught red-handed in the middle of their little fun.

And just when Aadish thought the chaos couldn’t grow worse, there sat the fourth one too—Armaan. The one who was supposed to be in a meeting had shamelessly joined this gang after just a single call from his bhabhi maa (sister-in-law motherly figure), Avantika.

“You…” Aadish said again, gritting his teeth in pure disbelief. His voice was cold, edged with warning.

But to his horror, no one responded. Not a single word, not even a guilty glance. It was as if he didn’t even exist in that room. The four of them—his wife and his three brothers—continued to sit together like partners in crime, leaving him fuming on the edge.

“Guys, I am talking to you!” Aadish’s voice rose again, firm and demanding.

But it was as if he had suddenly turned invisible—or maybe these four had simply lost the ability to hear him. None of them bothered to answer. They were too busy making faces, giggling, and continuing with their mischief.

“Rudra, yeh chocolate flavour accha hai na? (Rudra, this chocolate flavor is good, right?)” Avantika asked sweetly, tasting a spoonful of ice cream.

And there stood Aadish—burning like coal in anger. God only knew how he was managing to control himself, his jaw tightening with every second.

“Yaa, yummy!” Rudra replied happily, licking the ice cream with delight, completely ignoring his brother’s fuming presence.

“Show me!” Om demanded, his eyes wide with childlike curiosity, leaning forward as if the ice cream held some magical secret.

“See!” Rudra said proudly, holding the tub right under Om’s nose, as though just showing it was enough to satisfy him. He even tilted it side to side like a trophy on display.
