Do we have a deal?

"The deal is simple. Not too much I'm asking for."

Roo said as she waved her hand in the air, a black and red shadow appeared showing the two of them, their bodies moving as Roo explained her deal.

"I'll give you the strongest demonic powers I can offer. Your face will be all over Hell. And everyone at that hotel? Well.. they won't be able to resist you."

Roo says as the shadows move, mimicking her words as you watch in awe, your eyes shining a bit. But then you quickly shake your head. That's not what you wanted, not in the slightest.

"What? No— I don't wanna be famous like that. I don't need demonic powers. I just don't want to be ignored. Ever since Lilith came back to the hotel.. she's been making my life a living hell.. literally."

You say with a heavy down, slowly sitting down on a nearby rock, looking down at the ground with a defeated look, rubbing the stress from your face.

Roo just stares at you with that same wide grin, her eyes shining bright red as she chuckled softly, slowly walking over towards you and sitting next to you.

"My dear.. Lilith is the Queen of Hell.. of course she'll be a little rough. And because she's been gone for so long.. she doesn't know what's going on."

Roo begins to say, looking off into the distance for a moment to think before turning to look at you, a mischievous look in her eyes.

"Aren't you tired of being looked down on despite everything you do for that hotel? Everything you do for those people? Wouldn't it be nice if.. they respected you?"

Roo asked in that soothing voice, a hot breath of air filling your face as you shiver slightly. It was tempting. If she was powerful and popular.. maybe others wouldn't look down on you so much. But at the same time.. it just brought you memories on Earth. You got treated the same way up there and yet.. you didn't let it bother you— you were yourself, no matter how much you wanted to change yourself.

After a few moments of thinking, you eventually let out a soft sigh before turning to look at Roo, a gentle smile on your face.

"I.. appreciate the offer but.. I think I'm gonna have to pass."

You say as you stand up, Roo looking at you with surprising eyes. Usually she was good at manipulating people into doing what she wanted. But you? You were different, you didn't give in so easily.

"As much as I hate being treated the way I do by her, I'm not going to change myself to make people like me. If they truly cared about me.. they would love me for who I am."

And with that, you turn away and leave, not daring to look back at Roo. Roo just watched you leave with a glare, her eyes flaming red before she chuckled under her breath.

"Oh, don't worry sweet Y/N, you'll be back.. I know you will be."

Roo says as she chuckles once more, a large gush of wind pushing you up the hill and out of the woods, stumbling as you stood out of the woods. You turned back to look towards the woods where Roo was, a conflicted look on your face before letting out a sigh, walking back into the streets of Hell.

As you walk throughout the streets, you notice signs all around, signs of.. Vox? With the words; 'war is only beginning.' in the title. You shrug your shoulders slightly, thinking it was no big deal as you walk away from it and back to the hotel.

You go inside the hotel, closing the doors behind you before hearing footsteps approach you, causing you to look up and see a worried looking Lucifer running up to you, his arms immediately wrapping around you in a warm embrace.

"Y/N... I'm so glad you're okay."

Lucifer says with relief in his voice, a soft sigh leaving his lips before pulling back to look at you in the eyes, a serious look on his face before placing his hands on your shoulders, making sure you're looking at him.

"Where were you? I was looking for you everywhere. I got so worried after I heard what happened earlier."

He says in a worried tone in which you just stay quiet, seeing the worried look and hearing the worried tone. You couldn't help but feel bad. You gently place your hands on his arms on your shoulders, holding them gently as you smiled softly at him.

"I'm sorry I worried you, love. I was just.. taking a walk around town."

You lied. You weren't gonna tell him that you wandered into the forest and met Roo, tell him that she offered you a deal to basically overpower everyone. Of course, you couldn't tell him that, at least right now.

Lucifer let out a soft breath of relief, letting go of your shoulders and grabbing your hands instead. He smiled as he looked at you, a more relaxed look as he lead you towards the front desk.

"Well, I'm just glad you're safe. But after I heard what happened, I had a long conversation with Lilith and basically forced her to give you a new job."

He said as the two of you stood in front of the front desk where a computer was, some small rubber ducks around for decoration, and a sign with your name on it. You look at the desk in awe, glancing at the small sign with your name before looking over at Lucifer with slight confusion.

"What.. what is this?"

You ask with curiosity in which Lucifer's eyes light up with excitement, letting go of your hands to show off the desk, a wide grin that showed his teeth on his face.

"Well.. you are gonna be our new receptionist! So, all you have to do is sit here and fill out occasion paper work for the hotel. And check in any guests that come! No more cleaning rooms and toilets and windows and dealing with trash!"

Lucifer said with excitement in his voice, his eyes sparkling happily as he looked at you, biting his lip with excitement. You stare in awe as he explained your new job. You step in front of the desk, looking around it before slowly sitting on the office chair, spinning around with a smile.

Lucifer watched you in awe, a bright smile on his face before stepping forward, standing in front of the desk, leaning against it while looking at you.

"So.. what do you think? Do.. you like it?"

He asked with curiosity, hope in his voice that you would like your new job. Of course, it wasn't anything fancy, but it was better than cleaning and having to deal with trash all day.  You look up at Lucifer with a warm smile, nodding your head with a content sigh leaving your lips.

"Of course I like it. This is better than cleaning all day."

You say in a giggle, leaning back against the chair with a relived look on your face. You felt.. relived, knowing maybe things were turning around. You knew it was a good idea not making that deal with Roo, you didn't need to change anything about yourself, or how you lived your life.

Lucifer chuckled softly, playfully clicking the bell in the front, leaning a hand on his cheek with his elbow leaning against the desk, a flirtatious look on his face.

"Well then.. I would like to reserve a room for.. two."

He purred, wiggling his eye brows at you before slowly walking around the desk, his claw hand running through your hair as he walked past you, looking over his shoulder.

"Meet me in my room at midnight."

He said before vanishing on top of the staircase, a soft blush grazing your cheeks as you smiled, putting a hand on your cheek, leaning your head back against your chair happily.

While you were happily thinking about your new job and your upcoming night with Lucifer, Lilith was watching the two of you from the distance, a cold look on her face before leaving to her own bedroom, her eye twitching slightly. She was up to something.. and something not good.
