Why Did I Even Bother Waking Up This Morning

It was about 9ish and I ran home as fast as I could hoping I could get home before my parents did. But I was too late I got home and my mother got up from the kitchen table and screamed "TAMMY ANN VALENCE WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN." I calmly said in reply "I stayed at friend house because I was out late and didn't want to walk all the way to the other side of town. "ok" she said "Sorry for yelling at you." "it's ok mom I know you get worried sometimes, I should have called." I quickly ran up to my bedroom. Thank God she believed me, it also helped that I remembered to change back into the clothes I was wearing last night. For a while I just sat and relaxed hoping time would pass quickly, but it didn't. So at about noon I called up Evie and she came over and I explained how much of a crappy morning I had. Then she told me that after she left The Dingo her and Steve were hanging out. Evie and Steve were kind of a thing we called them "Stevie" when they were together. Then we decided to go walk around Tulsa. we spent from about one till five walking around and talking. Then we decided to go stop at the DX me and Soda talked for about an hour. That was probably the longest time we've talked since he started seeing Sandy. I really did enjoy talking to him. In the mean time Evie was talking to Steve. So at about six me and Evie both went back to my house cause we had to get ready she also had a date with Steve. So at seven Steve and Soda both came at the same time. I wasn't really dressed up I saw just wearing some ripped skinny jeans, black converse a white tank top and a black cardigan. I had to say thought I did look pretty good. I also didn't wear much makeup like most of the greaser girls did and I had my hair down in its natural curls. So me and Soda went to the nightly double they were showing Elvis movies. Since neither of us could sit still we ended up throwing popcorn at people and talking and whooping when the lovebirds would have their moments. Then at about 10:30 we went to The Dingo for some cokes and fries, that's when we started to really talk. He said "Tammy you know I really like spending time with you and I wish that we could have done this when I was still with Sandy because it seems like forever since we really got to talk." In reply I said " I know and that we should do this at least once a week, just like we used to." After some more talking we went to the park and we ran around and raced each other and had just a plain good time. Then we bumped into each other and fell to the ground and we started to move in for a kiss, our lips just touched when it started to pour. We ran to the car and went back to his house. When we got there we just sat on his bed in his bedroom and talked and talked and talked until we fell asleep. Right when I was about to fall asleep Soda said "Tammy I love you", then he kissed my forehead and I fell asleep. Those 4 four word made me the happiest girl in the world
