Chapter 14

[Marias Pov]

After arriving at the café, we ordered our breakfast. We spoke a bit about what I will be doing in Barcelona, if I'll come back to Colombia and all sorts of things.

After we finished our breakfast and conversation we decided to leave as my flight was going to leave in an hour.

I jumped in Yuri's car as Thiago went with Santiago. We headed off to the airport. I was staring out the window, thinking of how much I will miss my country, my family and friends. I turned my head to see Yuri was focused on the road.

"You alright?" she asked. She must have noticed me staring at her.

"Mmm.. I'm gonna miss this place" I said sounding sad.

"You will miss me more" she said and winked as I laughed.

"Why are you laughing? It is true" she said.

"Yes it is true. I will miss you very much" I said.

"More than Santiago?" she asked. I nodded.

"Our little secret" I said and chuckled. She continued driving to the airport.

It took 10 minutes to get there. We hopped out of the car after Yuri parked up. Soon the boys arrived and parked right next to us. They hopped out, santiago came next to me and intertwined our fingers as he slightly squeezed it.

He was carrying one of my bags with his other hand while thiago was carrying the other two bags. We walked inside the airport and I looked around for gate 99 as that was where my flight was.

We walked there and heard the person on the intercom talk. "Flight to Barcelona at gate 99, boarding now" the person said. We stopped and said our goodbye's.

First was Thiago. I embraced him into a hug which we didn't part from. "I will miss you a lot. I hope you come back.. no wait, you will and I will make you" he said and I chuckled.

"I hope you do well in Barcelona and call me if anything happens ok.. no matter what" he added. I nodded without parting from his arms.

"I will miss you too and I will call you" I said.

"Ok that's enough. Let me say goodbye" Yuri said.

I parted from Thiago and embraced Yuri into a tight hug that I didn't want to let go of. She is my cousin, she is my bestfriend, she is the sister I never had.

"I will miss you so much" I said with tears in my eyes.

"I will miss you more" she said. I could hear that she was about to cry. I pulled back and looked in her eyes. A tear rolled down her face.

"Hey... don't cry" I said as I wiped her tear away. I hugged her tight.

"Call me when you land ok" she said. I nodded.

"If anything happens, you call me" she demanded. I nodded.

"Even if you find a boyfriend" she added. I chuckled.

"I will. Call me anytime, I will have my ears ready to hear about the drama happening with you" I said. She nodded.

"Goodbye Maria, I will come visit you one day. I promise" she said.

"Goodbye Yuri, I hope you will" I said and parted from her arms. The last goodbye was up next. Santiago isn't my boyfriend but he's the closest thing I've had to a boyfriend.

Santiago looked nervous. I walked up to him and wrapped my arms tightly around his neck as he wrapped his around my waist. His head was in the crook of my neck.

"Call me when you land, so I know you got there safely ok." he said. I nodded.

"I'm really gonna miss you Maria" he said.

"I will miss you too. Call me if anything happens, even if it's not a big deal I still want to know, even if you find a girlfriend, even if you get a girl pregnant, even if--" I said but he cut me off.

"Ok ok I will Maria. You too" he chuckled. We stood hugging each other for a while in silence.

"I guess it's time for us to break up" I said breaking the silence.

"I guess it is. I still care about you Maria, I'm here for you" he said.

"Me too' I said.

"I want one last thing" I said parting from his arms and looking straight into his eyes.

"What is that?" he asked. I didn't answer, instead I did it. I kissed him. He kissed back, our lips moving in sync. He parted his lips as I slid my tongue in his mouth. His hands trailed down from my waist to my bum, he squeezed it tight and pulled my body, crashing into his. Our lips still moving perfectly together. I slowly pulled back and rested my forehead on his.

"Goodbye Santiago" I said.

"Goodbye Maria" he said. I stroked his cheek and smiled. I let go and turned around.

"Bye guys" I said to them all.

I grabbed my bags and walked slowly to the gate terminal. I looked back, they were waving at me.

"Adios, Te Amo" I said and waved back at them. Thiago was comforting Yuri while she was crying. Santiago was waving at me with a big smile and watery eyes. I'm gonna miss them so much, I thought to myself before turning around.

I placed my luggage where I was told to put it. I walked through the terminal and into the plane. I sat down in my seat trying to make myself comfortable when I heard a voice speaking on the intercom but I didn't pay any attention to it. I was too excited to listen to anyone around.

Suddenly I felt someone tap my shoulder. It was a man. "Hey, sorry. My seat is right next to you. Can I get through?" he said. I nodded and stood up so he could get through. He sat on his seat and I sat down.

"Passengers, please fasten your seatbelts, we're about to take off" the attendant said on the intercom. Everyone fastened their seatbelts and got comfortable. The plane took off.

"Hi, what's your name?" the guy next to me asked.

"Maria, you?" I replied politely.

"Gil" he smiled. "You going to Barcelona?" he asked.

"Yeah, I am on this flight to Barcelona" I said and chuckled.

"Oh yeah sorry" he said. "Can I ask why?" he said. I nodded.

"I just wanted to get out of Colombia. I feel that going to Barcelona would give me an oppirtunity to do better" I replied.

"What do you mean?" he asked.

"They have more opportunities in Barcelona" I said.

"So what about you?" I asked wanting to know why hes going to Barcelona.

"Well I'm actually on my way to visit my bestfriend" he said.

"That's nice. Do you live in Colombia?" I said.

"No.. actually it's a funny story" he said and chuckled.

"Tell me" I said. I was more than happy to laugh right now.

"Well I actually live in Brazil and I thought I was on a plane to Barcelona but it turned out I was coming here, to Colombia" he explained and I laughed so much.

"Whaaat? how did that happen?" I said sounding surprised as I tried to stop laughing.

"I hardly know myself. I must've walked into the wrong terminal. How stupid of me" he said and face palmed.

"Hey, look on the bright side. You got to meet the most amazing person you'll ever know" I said and pointed at myself. He nodded and chuckled.

"It's gonna be a long flight" I said making myself comfy on the seat.

"Yes indeed" he said and laid back in his chair. I dozed off to sleep after a while of chatting with Gil. He's a very nice and funny guy.
