Chapter 23

[Marias Pov]

I was on my 15 minute break, talking with Carla when someone taps my shoulder. It was him. He startled me a little to the extent that I couldn't seem to pull my eyes away. A few seconds passed when I finally snapped out of what felt like a dream.

"Hey, can you just give me a minute" I said to him and turned to Carla.

"As I was saying. How would you like to work here permanantly?" she said with confidence and I squealed.

"Really?" she nods. "I would love to" I said happily.

"That's great to hear. See you back here soon" I nod and turned to face Neymar and Dani, of course I know who he is, I just haven't seen him in person.

"Hey" I said. I contemplate on whether I should hug him or not.

"Hey" he said and goes in for a hug. And of course, I hug him back and smile.

"What are you doing here?" I ask, he frowns. "Not that I'm complaining or anything" I added, nervously and look down.

[Neymars Pov]

"What are you doing here?" she asks, I frown. She doesn't want me here? "Not that I'm complaining or anything" she says and looks down. What a relief.

Oh I actually came to tell you that I can't stop thinking about you.
"I just came to drown my sorrows" I lie and Dani nudges me. "What?" I hiss. I know exactly why he nudged me.

I hear her chuckle lightly.

"Sorry, I'm Dani" he introduces himself going in for a shake.

"Nice to meet you Dani. I'm Maria" she smiled and shook his hand. Maria, that's her name. "Nice to meet you too" he said.

We chat about the loss we had today which she saw, surprisingly. She mentions that she loves football, which makes me happy as we have something in common. She doesn't talk to us long as she only had 15 minutes before getting back to work.

"I should probably get back to work" she said as she stood up to leave.

"We better head off then" I said and looked at Dani to see if he wanted to leave. He nodded.

"See you around, Maria, It was great to meet you" Dani said and hugged her. Ugh.. does he have to hug her. "It was nice meeting you too" she said and pulled away.

"I'll wait outside" he said, I nodded.

"It was good seeing you again, Maria" Better than good, it was great, amazing! I can't bring myself to say these words going through my head. She nods and smiles.

"I would love to see you again" I said. "Maybe we could hang out?" I add shyly.

"Yeah sure. I would like that a lot" she smiled.

"Can I maybe get your number? So I can ask when you want to hang out" I said. She nodded and we exchange numbers.

"See you soon, Maria" I said and hugged her, inhaling the familiar scent of her hair.

"Bye Neymar" she said as I walked away.

Dani just won't stop teasing me as we are in the car, driving to my house.

"I just came to drown my sorrows" he mimicks me. "Bro you need to grow some fuckin' balls and tell her" I let him tease me because I know he's right.

"You should've seen your face. You looked like a tomato" he laughed loudly. "Can I get your number?" he mimicks and continues laughing.

"Ugghh.." I groan, when is he gonna stop?
