Chapter 50 (Part I)

[Maria's Pov]

I felt so lonely as I sat alone in my apartment after getting back from the airport. The silence of the place made me feel so sad and alone that I thought a long walk would do after I get some sleep. I woke up early this morning to meet them and to be honest, I am tired from the events that took place last night in my bedroom.

I just lay back in my bed with the tv on as I tiredly watched chick flicks on Netflix. I knew I wouldn't stay awake long so I turned the volume down a bit so I wouldn't be woken up unless it was the sound of my phone.

Like I had predicted, I was falling asleep and as much as I tried to keep my eyes open to watch the movie, I just couldn't. I just let myself go into a deep and comfortable slumber.

I woke up to see that I had only slept for 2 hours which isn't long but I guess it's long enough. I had nothing to do now. I had all my clothes packed and ready for my flight tomorrow and I had cleaned the place as well. All I could think of doing was going for a walk or staying in bed. I chose to go for a walk since I won't be seeing this beautiful place for 2 weeks.

I changed into yoga pants and a grey zip up hoodie and slipped into my running shoes before covering the hickeys with my long hair that seemed to do a good job. To ensure that my hair stayed in place, I grabbed one of Ney's hats that he had left here and put it on.

I grabbed my phone off my bed before leaving and locking the door behind me. Firstly, I decided to get something to eat since I haven't exactly had anything for breakfast. I take a 10 minute walk to the usual café that I go to.

The queue wasn't long but there were quite a bit of people inside but even more were sitting outside enjoying the sun beaming down on them through the material of the umbrellas.

I was finally able to order something after the queue had died down in front of me. "Hey, can I get the chicken pieces on salad and a bottle of apple juice to go please?" I ordered and she nodded as she pressed some buttons then charged me for the food in which I happily paid for.

"Did you want any dressings on your salad?" she asked politely.

"Just mayo, thanks" I smiled. She nodded.

I took a look around to see if there was an empty seat but there wasn't any. I just decided I could take a walk to the beach.

I was gazing out the window looking at the beautiful blue sky, it looked so gorgeous and....just wow.

"Here you go Miss" the girl at the counter informed as she handed over a takeaway paper bag and a bottle of apple juice.

"Thank you" I smiled then took my things with me outside.

I had a quick sip of my juice before beginning my walk to the beach which was approximately a few minutes away. A wave of refreshment washed over me as the wind blew freely through my hair. It sort of made me feel better but not completely.

Ney had only left hours ago and yet I missed him like crazy.

Text to Ney💞: "I miss you :( xx"

I continue walking for a minute or so and excitingly make it to my destination, the beach. I've always loved going to the beach. It gives off a free and happy feeling. I just love it when the wind blows through my hair and I also love it when the sun is shining down on me, it's the perfect combination.

There are a lot of people here so I try searching for an unoccupied place on the sand when my eyes set on an empty space near a couple with a baby. As I approach the space, I easily spot the woman to be Paula. I practically sprint towards her and kneel in front of her before wrapping my arms around her.
