About a month later, Calum took me to the beach.

"So. Anna." He looked me dead in the eye.

"So. Calum." I looked him dead in the eye.

"Gotta a question for you." He stopped walking and sat in the sand. It was too cold to get in the water right now. But, the weather was just right to sit outside the water.

"And what question is that?" I asked him and sat down too.

"Well. Firstly, I'm asking this in person cause doing it over text is dumb and now you can't stop replying." He was looking straight ahead of him as he said this. There was the tiniest hint of a smile on his face.

"Okay. Well get on with it!" I laughed and leaned my head on his shoulder. He suddenly relaxed.

"Will you... Would you w-... Do yo..." He took a deep breath and continued. "Would you maybe wanna go out sometime?"

I looked at him confused.

"But Calum, we always go out." I picked my head up off his shoulder and looked at him.

"I meant a different kind of go out. Like as something more then friends." He said. He was looking at me now. There was a small spark of hope in his eyes but he looked terrified.

"Calum..." Instead of answering, I ran. I ran until I realized he was my ride home. So then I stopped.

"Why'd you run?" He asked once he caught up to me.

"Because I'm scared Calum." I said and slowly backed away from him. I would find my own ride home.
