Maddie's pov
"It's been a long time babe, you're a hard person to find you know," he says and I swear I'm gonna scream.

"What do you want Tyler?" I ask horrified.

"So glad you asked. It's not what I want, more like what I need. That just happens to be you," he says smirking.

"I don't know what you're talking about and I think you need to go take your meds," I bite back.

"Listen you god damn whore, you're coming with me and I'm drowning this dumb bitch," he says.

Panicking I kick him against the rocks and his back slams against it catching him off guard. I grab my shoes and longboard and whip it to the other side of the water. I pick up Tina and jump into the water. She swims away to the other side and we quickly get out. I slip on my socks and shoes and grab my long board. Wait. I forgot about Conner.

"Run ahead! Follow the trail it leads to the town," I yell to Tina.

"You're not coming with me?!" She yells back.

"No I'm gonna go get Conner!"

With that she turns and runs towards the trail and I run back to where Conner was once before. When I get there he's sitting on a rock holding his arm with his hand in pain.

"Come on we have to go now!" I say running up to him.

He looks up at me wide eyed, "what're you doing here! You need to leave now!"

"No we need to leave now. Conner your not getting hurt by this asshole," I say.

I help him up and we start running but Tyler blocks the trail and there's grass and pollen everywhere and I'm already having a bad reaction. I slowly back up and Tyler pulls out a pocket knife and a huge smirk. My eyes widen and I look around. Suddenly, someone comes out of nowhere and jumps on Tyler causing him to fall to the ground. Holding him in place the masked ninja looks up and it's Luke.

"Luke what are you doing?!" I yell at him scared.

"Protecting you, what does it look like?" He says cockily, "hanging around him isn't going to help you."

"Conners innocent. But that guy you're practically sitting on isn't, we need to get out of here and fast," I say.

He nods and Conner walks around them touching the grass but I just stand in my spot. I have nowhere to go except behind me.

"What are you waiting for?! An invitation?" Luke says annoyed.

"I'm having a bad reaction to the pollen. It's everywhere!" I say trying not to freak out more than I already have.

"Swing around on my back then," he says calmly.

I do as he says and throw my board over his head. I hop over his back and grab my board. I turn behind me and he kicks and throws Tyler as far as he can away from us giving us time to run back to the house. He starts running towards me and grabs my free hand causing me to run with him. We race out of the forest and up the street to his house being followed by Tyler. We run into his house and lock the doors.

"Quickly! Any door or window or anything that you could enter in from here lock!" Luke yells.

We run around locking everything and then hear pounding on the door. Luke tells everyone to stay in the kitchen but I sneak to the door and look who it is. It's Conner. I look to see if Tyler's anywhere near and it's clear. I let him in and quickly lock the door behind me. He's still holding his arm. It's bleeding. I grab his sweater and pull him up the stairs guiding him to my room. I push him to sit on the bed and go into my bathroom grabbing a cloth and gauze and tape. I wet the cloth and tell him to take off his sweater.
